- This should be the entrance to the 11th floor, right? (Leon)
- But it doesn't look like the other entrances so far. (Apollo)
- Let's see how we can get in. (Alexis)
~The Labyrinth of Mythralheim(S)~
~The Labyrinth of Mythralheim is an ancient, mystical maze. Legends speak of valuable treasures guarded by cyclops, centaurs and minotaurs that only the bravest adventurers can claim. The maze is filled with traps, secret passages, and challenging puzzles, making it a perilous journey for those seeking the rewards within.~
~Participants: up to 1.000 players. Each guild is limited to 30 participants.
Slots: 368/1.000~
~Clear condition: Defeat the Minotaur Champion who is waiting in the middle of the maze.~
- It's weird that 1,000-player limit, but it's good that they don't let guilds have too many players. (Alexis)
- So we're going in? (Leon)
- We kind of should, I'm sure many more guilds are on their way in. Almost 400 players have already entered. (Gilgamesh)
~Do you want to enter The Labyrinth of Mythralheim with your party?
Yes/No~
- Let's go then. (Alexis)
~Yes.~
After agreeing to enter the maze, they were teleported to a random location.
- We're inside, right? (Leon)
- Good thing we were teleported together. (Apollo)
- That's probably how the system was designed to teleport teams together. Anyway, I don't see anyone around. (Alexis)
The maze area is huge, with corridors about 15 metres high and blue torches on the walls. But these corridors are very tricky, being very twisted, randomly coming across different monsters or some traps that can pose problems for players.
- Watch your steps. Let's not run into any more annoying traps. (Gilgamesh)
- Good thing we quickly blocked those poison arrows. (Leon)
They haven't even finished and Dante steps on another trap. A trapdoor opens below them, and they fall into a lower corridor where some Centaurs are.
- I could have sworn someone was going to step into another trap. (Gilgamesh)
- Sorry. (Dante)
- Let's kill these monsters first. Then you can argue. (Alexis)
- I didn't know there were corridors further down, though. Could this maze be multi-level? (Leon)
- We need to find out more details from other players here. Unfortunately, we can't get out of the maze unless we die, so we'll have to search the forum or something. (Alexis)
- It's a very dubious maze. At least it lets us disconnect from the game within it. (Gilgamesh)
- Not to mention the monsters here are of a very high level. Most of the monsters we've encountered so far have been level 95-100, so there are probably more powerful ones. (Apollo)
- At least we can grow faster than the 10th floor. (Leon)
As they advanced, the hours passed very quickly. The 5 of them were still fighting various monsters here and there until they found a door.
- Should we go in? (Leon)
- What if there's another trap? (Apollo)
- Let's check it out though, maybe there are some treasure rooms around here. (Alexis)
As they opened the door to the dubious room, they noticed several chests in the room, but no monsters.
- It's just too suspicious. Lots of chests, but no monsters? (Gilgamesh)
As they look towards the chests thinking about what to do, Dante approaches a chest and tries to open it, but it turns into a Mimic.
~Mimic Chest(B), Lv. 98~
~Mimic Chest(B), Lv. 98~
After that one, a few more appeared.
- I knew it was too good to be true. (Gilgamesh)
After defeating all the mimics, there were 2 more chests at the end of the room, with a notice above them.
~You can choose one of these two chests. One is filled with riches, another is just an empty chest.~
- Which do you think is the right one? Does anyone feel lucky? (Alexis)
- I say the silver one. It's definitely the one with the reward. (Dante)
- And I say the silver one. (Leon)
- Of course, the silver one is empty. (Gilgamesh)
- Why do you think that? (Leon)
- Because they were put that way for people like you who always choose the shinier version. (Gilgamesh)
- Then we choose the wooden one? (Alexis)
By the time Alexis had finished his sentence, Gilgamesh was already heading for the chest and opened the wooden one.
~You've chosen the wrong chest. Both chests will disappear.~
- The wooden one said. It can't be the silver one... (Leon)
- Pfahaha. Next time leave the luck to us. (Dante)
- I guess you don't know much about gambling either, huh? (Leon)
- Stop being so mean. Next time maybe we'll have better luck. (Apollo)
- Let's hope there will be a next time. (Leon)
- Let it go, Gilgamesh. Next time someone else will try and maybe it will be the same. (Alexis)
... and Gilgamesh suddenly falls silent, not responding to the challenges of the two.
The next day, they re-enter the game, continuing to explore the labyrinth.
- Did you find out useful information? (Leon)
- We already know most of it. There are some Mimic Chest rooms, traps, and monsters everywhere, and our assumption was correct, the maze is divided into levels. (Alexis)
- And should we go up or down? (Dante)
- That I don't know... We should probably find some ladders to see if we go up or down. (Alexis)
- If we assume we started at the first level of the maze, then maybe we should go down? (Gilgamesh)
- If we're going down, then Dante did a good job stepping into that trap yesterday. Basically, we went down a level without really trying too hard. (Leon)
They continue to fight monsters down those corridors until at one point they reach some stairs going down.
- So, we go down. (Alexis)
- Hey, check out what I dropped from a Centaur. (Dante)
~Centaur Warrior Boots – level 95, B-grade, +89 Defence, +20 Agility~
- So, we can get items from these monsters. But the chance of a drop seems damn slim to me. (Gilgamesh)
- Does it even have a set effect? Or are they just like that? Let's know whether to try harder to get at least a set. (Alexis)
- I'm not getting anything else, so probably not. (Dante)
- Anyway, compared to what armour you have, the items here are probably much better. (Gilgamesh)
- Yeah. We're gonna need some more of our level items soon. At least I kind of want a new armour. I hope we can get one here. (Apollo)
- I'd change my armour too, but I don't know if I'd give up that 10% negation and reflection bonus from the set just yet. (Alexis)
- Sooner or later we're still going to have to change our armour and maybe even our weapons. Hopefully, we'll be able to do that in the next few floors. (Leon)
They've moved on and defeated various monsters. After a while, they discover another room, which is filled with minotaurs protecting a chest.
- How many are here? 15, 20? (Leon)
- Do you think we can beat them? (Apollo)
- That chest must have good loot. (Gilgamesh)
- Do we fight 1-2 or take 1 minotaur each? (Alexis)
- I'll help Apollo, if someone can defeat the minotaurs alone, we can split up. (Leon)
- It's kind of tight to fight a lot of minotaurs at once. (Gilgamesh)
- Careful, I threw a minotaur at you. (Dante)
Two minotaurs collide with each other, and then Dante and Alexis attack them at once and defeat them. Meanwhile, Leon attacks the minotaurs lured by Apollo, while Gilgamesh attacks other minotaurs on the other side of the room. After a fight lasting about 30 minutes, they defeat all the minotaurs and head for the chest in the room.
- Leon, you seem to have the highest luck status among us, so you open it. Maybe you'll get lucky and drop some good items or something. (Alexis)
~You have opened a chest.~
~Minotaur Warrior Helmet – level 95, B-grade, +94 Defence, +18 Strength~
~Necklace of a Warrior – level 95, B-grade, +20 Stamina, +20 Resilience~
~30 gold coins~
- Not too bad. I'll take this helmet, I've got a weak one anyway. Who wants the necklace? (Leon)
- I could use it, but I don't know if anyone else does. (Dante)
- I think I can stay with my necklace for now. So, you can take it. (Alexis)
- Thanks. (Dante)
After another 2 days, the boys find the stairs to another lower level, descending even deeper, encountering more monsters of a much higher level. After fighting for a while longer Gilgamesh finally reaches level 100 and gets some notifications.
~Congratulations on hitting level 100.~
~For your advancement to level 100, you will gain some rewards.~
~You've obtained +10 points for all statuses.~
~You've gained a unique ability, [Meteor Sword]~
- Oh, I got some interesting stuff at level 100.
- Have you hit level 100? I'm just about to hit level 99. (Leon)
- So... What do you get at level 100? (Alexis)
- You get a unique ability and +10 for each status. That's pretty good, but it's probably a one-time thing. (Gilgamesh)
- I can't wait until I reach level 100 to see what unique ability I get. (Leon)
- Does every player get a unique ability? (Apollo)
- Most likely. Still, coming up with millions of unique abilities is a bit weird. (Alexis)
- Maybe there's a limit, or maybe it's designed that way for each player to have a unique ability. Who knows. (Gilgamesh)
- Let's level up faster then, to hit level 100. (Dante)
Another few days fly by, the boys still fighting monsters, dodging traps, advancing one more level into the labyrinth, Alexis and Leon finally hit level 100 too.
- Finally! I hit level 100. (Leon)
~Congratulations on hitting level 100.~
~For your advancement to level 100, you will gain some rewards.~
~You've obtained +10 points for all statuses.~
~You've gained a unique ability, [Penetrating Flash]~
- Got a nice ability. Far better than the ones I have. (Alexis)
~Congratulations on hitting level 100.~
~For your advancement to level 100, you will gain some rewards.~
~You've obtained +10 points for all statuses.~
~You've gained a unique ability, [Condemnation Sword]~
- How low do you think we should go to reach the centre of the labyrinth? (Apollo)
- I have no clue. (Alexis)
- Which level are we now? 4th? 5th? (Gilgamesh)
- If I remember correctly, we are at 4th one. (Leon)
- Let's contact some guys who might be there to see if they know. (Alexis)
After a while, after Alexis messaged Zekker…
- I've talked with Zekker, and he told me that they are at the 6th level right now, but still didn't reach the centre of the labyrinth. (Alexis)
- Did they get that far? We have to raise the pace then, or we will miss that Boss. (Leon)
- Yeah. Let's find those stairs faster. (Gilgamesh)
The next day, they reached level 5 of the labyrinth, and after another day, they finally reached level 6.
- I've got a message from Zekker. He told me that they still hadn't found the stairs to the 7th level. Wanna meet up with them? (Alexis)
- Sure. Ask him how we can meet up. Maybe they are familiar with this level. (Leon)
As they were speaking, another group was coming from behind, getting to the 6th level. They seem to be from a top guild, their number being quite big.
- Do you know from which guild are they? Leon whispered.
- Not sure but seems like they meet up with other parties. If I counted right, there were about 20. (Gilgamesh)
- We have to get away from here. I'm sure more parties will come by, so we can't afford to fight with them right now. It's more important to find a way to get to the Boss Room. (Alexis)
After fighting with more monsters, and almost half a day passing through, they meet up with Zekker's party.
