When Alycia Reese opens her eyes, she first notices the rays of sunlight entering her room.
What time is it now? When she tries to recall what happened, all she can remember is how she lay in her bed and ended up sleeping at the forenoon. Just how long had she slept?!
The dizziness she feels when she moves her head makes Alycia realize that she has been sick. Not to mention that her whole body aches!
Slowly pushing herself up, Alycia is more than startled when she suddenly sees her mother next to her. Her mother is sitting on the floor with half of her upper body on the bed. Though she is asleep, her posture is not that comfortable at all.
Alycia's movement wakes her mother who looks at her while rubbing her eyes. "You're awake. How do you feel now?" She lifts her hand to feel her daughter's forehead and lets out a breath. "Your fever has gone down but you should still rest."
