The next chapter following this... hohoho, it will touch nerves, squeeze faces, leave some agasp, leave some oddly horny, leave some in a twist. This is a mild warning to skip the next chapter after this, maybe even the next two. What is it you ask? Find out next time on Dragon Ball Z... wrong fic. But find out next time on THE CRAZY ADVENTURES OF KEVIN!
Kate's smile turned almost predatory. "Oh, just that we gave him some special treatment—something reserved for our most handsome guests," she said, her words laced with implications that only served to heighten Gwen's suspicions.
"He also required services from me personally. Services that only I could provide." Kate giggled softly, her laughter light yet calculated. Ben and the other boys nearby, including the bullies who had stayed to watch the spectacle, couldn't help but be drawn in by the allure in her voice, completely captivated by her charm.
Gwen, however, was anything but charmed.
'This woman is messing with my head,' she thought, her mind a whirlwind of doubt and anger. 'Is she playing around, or is there something serious going on? No, I'm overreacting—just like I did last time. I nearly lost Kevin because of that.' Her thoughts raced, struggling to find balance.
But the seed of doubt had been planted, and now it was taking root. 'But what if…? Damnit, she's gotten into my head!'
Beads of sweat began to form on Gwen's forehead as she tried to steady her breathing, feeling the intensity of the situation weigh down on her. The summer heat wasn't helping either, the hot afternoon sun beating down on them, making the air thick and stifling. 'I just need to cool off before I say or do something I'll regret. Maybe a smoothie will help clear my head.' She inhaled deeply, trying to regain control of her emotions.
"My services are in real estate, darling," Kate added with a teasing smile, feigning innocence as she noticed Gwen's growing discomfort.
"Why are you getting so worked up, young lady? Here, let me buy you two smoothies. You both look like you could use a refreshment. You resemble each other—are you two siblings?" Kate continued, her voice light as if she hadn't just been subtly provoking Gwen moments ago. She turned towards Ben, flashing him a knowing smile.
Ben cleared his throat, suddenly feeling the need to stand taller and adjust his posture.
"No, no, we're cousins," he said, lowering his voice to sound deeper and more confident. "Hi, I'm Ben."
Gwen's eyes narrowed as she folded her arms across her chest.
'Of course, he's trying to impress her. What a dog,' she thought, shaking her head as a few girls from their high school gathered around her, eager to ask questions about Kevin.
"And I am Kate," she said smoothly, taking Ben's hand briefly in her left hand while her eyes flicked momentarily to his wrist, noticing his unique watch.
"That's quite an interesting watch you've got there," she remarked, her curiosity piqued.
Ben smiled awkwardly, glancing down at the Omnitrix strapped to his wrist. "Yeah, it is, isn't it?"
Kate, sensing an opportunity, reached into her bag to pull out another golden business card.
"If you're ever in the market to buy a house, do let me know. I can get you some incredible deals." She smiled warmly, her voice dripping with professionalism.
Ben shook his head, maintaining his polite smile. "I appreciate the offer, but I'm not really looking to buy anything right now."
'I'm still in high school,' he thought. 'No way I'm looking to buy a house. The hero business doesn't exactly come with a paycheck.' Inwardly, Ben chuckled at the absurdity of the situation.
Kate's gaze lingered on him for a moment longer before she turned her attention back to Gwen.
"Well, if you change your mind, you know how to reach me," she said, subtly gesturing towards Gwen with a slight tilt of her head, her smile almost conspiratorial. Without missing a beat, she made her way to the counter to order two smoothies.
"I'll have mine to go, please," Kate said, flashing a quick smile as the staff prepared her order. Ben thanked her as she passed him his smoothie before she gracefully exited the café and returned to her sleek, black car waiting outside.
Once inside, she offered the smoothie to her driver. "Do you want this?"
The driver, not one to refuse, nodded gratefully. "Thank you, ma'am."
Kate reclined in her seat, her eyes glimmering with satisfaction.
"So? What did you think?" she asked aloud, though it was unclear if she was speaking to herself or someone else.
A voice, sultry and confident, responded.
"It's a good thing you didn't push her too far." From the shadows of the car's back seat, a dark-skinned woman with long, flowing black hair leaned forward. Dressed in a sleek teal dress that hugged her body like a second skin, she looked no older than thirty-five, though her presence suggested far greater wisdom and experience. Her figure was model-like, tall and lean, yet her curves were unmistakable, accentuated by the fabric that clung to her hips.
"What do you mean by that, Elsie?" Kate asked, her tone slightly defensive.
Elsie's eyes, half-lidded and calm, bore into Kate's with an intensity that made it clear who held the power in this dynamic.
"The girl's mana—it's purer than anything I've felt in a long, long time. The quantity and quality of it far surpass my own. If she's not Alpha Derrick's shaman, which she isn't, then I would advise you to tread carefully." Elsie spoke with the kind of authority that only someone with centuries of knowledge could wield as she walked through a snow blizzard without warm clothing and into a tree that just opened up for her to pass through without saying anything leading her to the warm interiors of a cottage filled with the smell of hot chicken soup being prepared by a dashing Asian man in his late thirties who looked like a callisthenics guru wearing a kiss the chef apron only and jeans.
"You think I'm scared of some girl?" Kate huffed in frustration, though deep down, Elsie's words gave her pause.
"What do you even know?" Kate asked, annoyed.
"Enough to know that the youngsters of this pack are about to do something foolish in the name of self-preservation," Elsie replied and walked over to the chef and kissed him on the lips while squeezing his ass.
"You old heads that won't do anything in the pack and just sit and wait for…" Kate started as she gritted her teeth.
"If you're smart, you will be. I don't want to be the one cleaning up after you if you provoke her beyond reason. And as for the boy..." Elsie's gaze shifted to the window as the scenery passed by, her voice lowering ominously.
"The power coming from that watch of his… it's unlike anything I've ever sensed before. He's no ordinary kid. He might be the one who fought off that alien attack last week. I wouldn't underestimate him, either. Both of them are well beyond your pay grade, Kate."
Kate gritted her teeth, her frustration mounting. She and Elsie had never gotten along, and the tension between them was intense. But Elsie was a figure not to be taken lightly.
One day, Elsie wanted to test the results of her experiments on some of the pack members who vehemently refused. Elsie was given the same authority as the Beta of the clan since her value kept the clan going especially her discovery of life-prolonging pills she made after she turned thirty-five centuries ago and tried on herself first before giving to the newly appointed Alpha, Alex.
She was nicknamed 'Elsie the eccentric' and was respected by shamans of other packs and was once recruited by Alpha Derrick himself.
Since Elsie couldn't find volunteers this time she opted to try the result of her latest experiment back then on herself but needed two people to observe her progress and findings and put conditions that such persons wouldn't stop her no matter what and can only leave as a last resort.
The couple signed up to help Elsie since doing so would give one a year's vacation and handsome pay from the Alpha Alex since working with Elsie can be very demanding and traumatizing sometimes. The couple signed up anyway as a means of adventure and thrill in their relationship. Only if they knew what was in store for them, maybe they wouldn't have.
"This isn't so bad. No explosions so far." Kate's mate joked.
"Don't jinx it, Richard!" Kate said as they waited in Elsie's lab for Elsie to show up.
"Or crazy genetic mutations… the woman's more of a scientist than a shaman!" Richard joked as Kate rested her head on his shoulders.
The door creaked open, and for a moment, Richard's eyes lost focus. A sudden chill swept through the room, not from the cold but from the anticipation that hung thickly in the air.
Elsie will become some reader's favourite character or the worst. I honestly look forward to the reaction, hahaha.
