Chapter 1 - Chapter 1 A Choice

Hey guys this is a Fic I've been wanting to write for a while now and even went out of my way to buy the comics to write this one. It's also because of this that uploads might slow but overall I hope your able to enjoy it as much as I had fun writing it.

'Ugh, what happened… and where in the world am I!?' The teenager wondered as he took in his surroundings.

His thoughts were a chaotic mess, leaving him confused about what had transpired. The last thing he remembered was taking a nap on the bus before work, and now he found himself in this strange place.

'Could this be some sort of lucid dream?' he questioned, trying to analyze his situation. But he doubted it. Everything around him was literal nothingness—empty, without any form of light or sound. In this void, he seemed to be the only existence. If this truly was a dream, it was unlike any he had ever experienced before.

Tired of sitting in the dark, he began looking around, hoping to find answers or a way out. That's when he noticed something peculiar: a floating blue screen, similar to those used in popular manhwas like "Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint."

Its sudden appearance caught him by surprise, causing him to step back. Something about it gave him a familiar bad feeling, like the one felt before making a life-changing decision or a risky investment. It was the uneasy sense that this could alter the course of his life.

Trusting his gut, he tried to ignore the floating screen, but boredom soon got the better of him. With a sigh, he conceded, 'I just can't ignore it forever.' He looked back at the screen and began to read the message it carried.

[Would you like to start a new life?]

[Y/N]

'Life? What does it mean by a new life? What about my old one?' he had a bad feeling creeping up his spine. A dark space with only himself and a screen offering a new life... didn't this mean he was dead? Why else would he be in a place like this?

Pondering further, he couldn't be sure. For all he knew, pressing "No" might allow him to wake up from this dream, like nothing ever happened. But there was always the chance that this was the afterlife, and pressing "No" could prove disastrous, leaving him trapped here or worse.

Finally, with a deep breath and a sense of resignation, he moved his hand toward the screen and pressed "Yes". He wasn't sure if he was making the right decision here but this option at least guaranteed life while the other was ambiguous. As for what sort of life it guaranteed he wasn't sure but hoped it wouldn't be something he regretted.

[Accepted. Randomly choosing a world for transmigration… Invincible Universe selected]

His eyes widened upon seeing the Invincible universe. Why? Because in terms of danger, it was right up there with DC. He had only seen some of the show, but what he had seen was enough to know it was far from safe.

From multiple villain attacks and alien invasions to the death of the Guardians who were essentially their version of the Justice League. Not to mention their murderer Omni-Man who betrays literally everyone including his family to aid the Viltrum Empire's conquest. It was definitely far from safe, but at least it wasn't something as crazy as Warhammer. Just thinking about that universe made him shudder unconsciously.

To make things worse he's not even that familiar with the series. Only having watched the first season and some reels on instagram.

[Choose your character]

Andrew Detmer (Chronicle)

Brandon Breyer (Brightburn)

John Hancock (Hancock)

'Character? It feels like this screen is treating this like a game, which worries me slightly. At least the options are good, so I can't complain on that end. Any one of them would easily boost my chances of survival, but I can't be careless. Whatever I pick will be my only chance in this world, so I need to choose wisely,' he thought, beginning a thorough analysis of his current options.

All three had good potential and could thrive in the Invincible universe, but there was a significant difference, particularly with Andrew Detmer. He was a young man with a wide range of abilities that increased throughout his movie, which was impressive, but he lacked something crucial, "durability".

The show invincible was a superhero world that didn't hide gore from its audience. Every episode practically had someone being decapitated, something he very much did not want to experience when he arrives.

Now this is not saying that Andrew wasn't durable, because he definitely was, but thinking in terms of facing a Viltrumite, he wouldn't stand a chance. He could probably hold one back with telekinesis, but a single hit would be his downfall.

Next was Hancock who had some impressive feats and was highly durable, especially when not around his counterpart, something he wouldn't need to worry about in this new world. But again, the question remained: could he win against a Viltrumite? The answer was no. At most, he'd be at the Guardians' level, which was impressive, but they didn't last long against Omni-Man.

This left one option: Brandon Breyer. Essentially an evil version of Superman, Brandon never fully showcased his potential due to his young age. However, if Brandon truly was a version of Superman then that made him the one with the most potential out of the three options.

The only problem was how the kid became a little psycho with a god complex but it was a risk he was willing to take to not get one shotted. With his decision made he clicked Brandon Bryer causing the message to send one last message.

[Good luck and enjoy your second chance.]

The screen disappeared from view as his consciousness began to fade. Surprisingly, in these last moments, he didn't feel as scared or worried as he expected, but rather excited. In just a few moments, he wouldn't just be a regular guy. No, he would be something more than he ever thought possible, capable of things beyond his wildest dreams.

He would become the impossible.
