After sleeping the whole evening and night, Ariel opened her eyes. Slowly, she looked to her side and found Raymond resting his head on the bed. Their hands were interlocked together and she felt a sense of relief course through her.
He never let go of her.
"Sir Raymond." She muttered and closed her eyes. The pain and shock she saw in his eyes the moment their eyes met at the basement shook her at the time.
Really, all she wanted was to be a good partner and if she couldn't do that then she wanted to at least be a good pawn.
Losing her worth as a pawn would mean the end of their relationship and she didn't want that. That was why she held on. She held on as much as she could.
Tears slid down the corners of her eyes. Her heart actually hurt. It hurt more than her bruised and sore body. If she got abandoned by Raymond, she definitely wouldn't be able to live.
