The day of the party drew near. It was scheduled on a Friday night but during the day, everyone made sure to present their gifts first.
Since Raymond had very much provided everything for his daughter, finding a rare gift for her was tough.
While Paige and Maxwell presented a land deed of a mountainside villa to the little girl, Steve presented an antique porcelain vase, saying it would beautify the villa. So everyone ended up getting something to fill the villa. Well, everyone except Jane and Alexa.
Everyone's gifts were so exaggerated and overwhelming that Jane and Alexa exchanged glances like they were aliens. Compared to the gifts others gave, the little trinkets they had in boxes were nothing.
"I feel bad for some reason." Alexa said to Jane who nodded and said,
"Same here. My gift looks so small." Jane sobbed but then, Maxwell crept up to her and snatched the box from her hand.
