In the end, they decided to go on the picnic. Raymond carried Alexa in his arms while the maids carried the wheelchair down the stairs.
"Are you okay?" Raymond asked. "You don't feel uncomfortable, do you?"
His voice filled with affection made her heart beat accelerate and she kept her arms around his neck.
"I'm okay." She answered. 'But my heart isn't.'
This sort of close contact... It wasn't the first or second time this was happening but it felt new every single time.
Even after getting to the bottom of the stairs, Raymond didn't let her down in her wheelchair and kept carrying her.
"Are you okay?" Alexa asked and he looked down at her with a smile.
"Are you worrying about your weight?"
"It's just... I might be heavy."
"You don't need to worry because you weigh less than a pillow." As soon as he said this, her face flushed.
