Jane fell asleep shortly after. She wasn't supposed to sleep since she took in a lot of caffeinated drinks but she couldn't help it as her body, soul and heart were all tired.
"How can you sleep just anywhere?" Maxwell asked as he watched her and then frowned. "It would seem that kind people are indeed destined to suffer. You're far too lenient."
His eyes grew dark.
The desire to protect her suddenly grew and he got angry. She didn't want him to touch that bastard? Then he could take it out on the lady.
He took out his phone and made a brief call. Two guys dressed normally walked into the cafe and approached them.
"You, carry her luggage." He pointed at one of them. And to the next, he said, "You, carry her to the hotel I'm staying in. It's a suite so it can contain both of us."
They were surprised he was letting her stay in the suite with him but they dared not to question him.
