Demi-humans are nothing new in towns and cities alike. Elves, beastmen, and even some merfolk come to the land and occasionally mingle, make transactions with humans, and do many other things like enjoying the quality of life humans enjoy. There are still mixed reactions by some people regarding them, but the majority are pretty open and accepting of them as long as they are also respectful, kind, and civilized, then they will be seen with positivity as well.
However, there is a difference between demi-humans and civilized monsters. Civilized monsters are different types of demi-humans. Elves, beastmen, and merfolks all belong to the category of "humanlike", allowing them to be able to blend in with humans even though they have various parts of their bodies that simply don't belong to humans. But Civilized Monsters are different.
