Thanks to Richmond Gibson's intervention, Jamal and his fiancee were released from police custody after being held for more than three hours.
The couple were grateful to be free at last but were very resentful of the arrest and false allegation.
If it hadn't been for the captain's strict warning and Maureen's threat, Jamal would have been ready to confront Chelsea and Brian again.
After a brief shower and late lunch, Jamal returned to the hospital with Lola's food, while Maureen left for her place of work.
Lola was taking a nap when Jamal arrived. Thanks to Imelda, she was in a calm state even though she spoke very little.
While Jamal was speaking to Imelda, Lola opened her eyes and called out his name.
"Hey, princess, how do you feel?" Jamal asked softly as he sat down, perched on her bedside.
"Betrayed... heartbroken... rejected." A single tear rolled down the right side of Lola's temple.
