Ice crawled down Aryanna's spine, causing her to shiver immensely.
"Sebastian loathes his father for breaking their family. He's not going to be happy to learn that you invited that family to his home for lunch," Clara enlightened Aryanna as they made their way back to the party.
The ice on her spine turned glacier when she saw Sebastian chatting with Aaron, just a few feet away.
"What do I do Clara? I can't ruin the happiness Sebastian has brought to my life," Aryanna choked up.
"I'll think of something."
They steps came to a slow stop when they heard a familiar voice.
"Sebastian is not here, Elisa. So why don't you put the gun down and have a seat so I can arrange for you to go and see him?" Jalana implored.
'Jalana? Gun?' Clara and Aryanna panicked. They sprinted ahead to call Aaron and Sebastian and alert them of the situation.
"Seb, I think 'Jalana is in trouble," Aryanna let out.
"Elisa is here Aaron and she has a gun," Clara reported.
"Take me to her," Sebastian urged. Aaron called the security. "Elisa Kincade is armed with a gun. She's here in the outroom at the gala," he said in a low, terse tone to the guards.
"We'll be right over, Sir," the security guards dispatched to attend to the emergency.
He hung up and charged back to his wife. "Keep everyone out of the outroom. We don't want to create a panic at the gala," he informed Clara.
"What is going on?" Raul walked in on them.
"Elisa is in the outroom with a gun, but the security guards are on their way," Aaron kept Raul in the loop.
"I'll handle i..."
"'Jalana is in there with her. It'll be better if you stay out of my way," Sebastian cut in moving toward the door.
"You can't go in there," Aryanna protested grabbing Sebastian's arm.
"Yes, I can. My sister is in there, just stay out here," Sebastian motioned for Aaron to keep Aryanna safe.
Sebastian shook her hand off and edged towards the door leading to the outroom. He didn't want to barge in the room and startle Elisa into shooting Jalana.
Raul walked silently behind Sebastian. He couldn't bear the thought of Jalana facing someone as unstable as Elisa alone.
Sebastian cracked the door open and peered inside. A shiver travelled down his spine when he saw how close Elisa was to Jalana, three feet away, with her gun leveled directly at the center of her chest.
Jalana stared up at Elisa with wide, frightened eyes with nothing but a small wooden coffee table standing between them.
There was no way that Sebastian was going to wait for security to save his sister. Without a second thought, Sebastian shoved the door open and stepped into the room.
Elisa swung around to face him. The gun bobbing up and down in her hand. "Sebastian, I knew you were here. I felt it in my heart that you were here," She let out , her eyes glimmering at the sight of Sebastian.
"Jala, get out of here," Sebastian instructed his sister.
Jalana nodded obediently. She stepped back steadily, afraid she'll provoke Elisa to fire the gun if she ambled faster.
Aryanna paced outside in worry. She wanted to know the situation inside the outroom and how Sebastian was. In haste, she stormed into the room.
Sebastian and Raul snapped their heads back. They witnessed Jalana rushing out of the room and Aryanna dashing in.
Elisa seized the moment of their distraction. In a blink of an eye, she had the gun pointed at Aryanna's head.
Aryanna froze. Sebastian and Raul went pale. "She is the reason why I came here. This witch is to blame for my pain," Elisa declared.
"Put the gun down, Elisa," Sebastian said.
"Put the gun away," Raul let out, projecting a calmness he didn't feel. "Don't make this worse than it already is."
From the corner of his eyes, Sebastian noticed Jalana had succeeded in exiting the room. His worry remained about the safety of his wife.
The outroom was big and open. There werent any places to hide or anything to use as a shield against the gun.
"Why are you threatening Aryanna?" Sebastian asked, striving for a conversational tone to keep Elisa's feeling grounded.
"Yes, Elisa. Aryanna hasn't done anything to you," Raul spoke up in Aryanna's favor.
Having Sebastian and Raul defend Aryanna was a mistake as Elisa immediately charged forward towards her. "You should have stayed away from Sebastian," He accused. "You shouldn't have married him. Sebastian was mine, is mine and will forever be mine. I can't let you have him."
Sebastian couldn't believe Elisa's twisted logic but then again he felt hurt seeing her so hurt. Elisa was beyond rational that Sebastian didn't know how to get through to her.
"What business is it of yours if I marry Sebastian. When he doesn't have a problem having me as his wife, why should you?"
Sebastian silently urged Aryanna to be quiet. There was no sense in provoking Elisa any further.
"What do you want, Elisa?" Sebastian asked, desperate to get Elisa's attention focused on him and away from Aryanna. "I can't help you if I don't know what you want."
"I want you and Raul to get out of here. If you don't, I'll start shooting her!" Elisa shouted and removed the safety off the gun.
Sebastian looked helplessly at Aryanna. Trying to think of a way to stall for time. Elisa might be crazy and a bit tipsy but judging from her shooting range history, he didn't want to bet that Elisa might not hit her target. Especially since Aryanna was in close range with her.
"Now guys!" Elisa said, firing the gun for emphasis, the sound echoed in the courtroom.
"Get down! " Raul shouted.
Sebastian and Aryanna dropped to the floor. Elisa rolled and came up in a small crouch ready for the next shot.
"Elisa Kincade! Drop your gun and come out with your hands up!"
"It's doesn't have to end this way, Elisa. Put down the gun," Sebastian pleaded.
"I love you, Seb. It's always been you and I dont think..."
A hand stretched out behind Elisa with a handkerchief in hand. The person pressed the handkerchief against Elisa's nose and pressed hard.
Elisa's vision blurred and she slowly started slipping into a lucid state. The gun fell from her hand to the ground as her knees buckled and she fell into the arms of the person immobilizing her.
Sebastian, Aryanna and Raul were surprised to see Jasmine come into their visage as Elisa fell into her arms. "Take her through the back and get her home safe," she commanded. A few men in black suits stepped up and took Elisa with them.
Sebastian, Aryanna and Raul rose from the ground and brushed off the dirt from their clothes.
Jasmine picked up the gun and handed it one of her bodyguards. "I'd apologize for the mess but I won't. Somehow I can't help but feel that all of you deserved that," she let out addressing both her brother's. "Don't worry about having me for lunch, Aryanna. I've suddenly remembered how cruel my family can be and the last thing I want is to dine with either of them."
