Chapter 23 - Chapter 23

"Sure," Louis replied, his mouth lighting up with a broad smile.

The younger children enthusiastically rushed toward their newfound father, embracing him with laughter and smiles as they gathered around Louis.

Carrying their individual plates, the hungry kids returned to Louis. They sat around him, joyfully feasting on the meager food they had been served – lacking in meat and fish. The older ones, while standing, also partook in the same meal, albeit in a smaller portion.

Louis sighed with compassion, realizing the evident reason for the children's stunted growth – malnourishment.

"I can't take all these children with me. It would be suspicious to take about one hundred and fifty children to the forest," Louis pondered as he observed the children relishing their modest meal.

"Join me," a bold young child approached Louis, handing him a spoon and plate to share.

"Thank you. I'm waiting for you to finish eating so that we can start our journey," Louis said as he stood up and walked outside.

Outside, Louis took out his WCD and contacted Brad through the given number.

"P-01-OD," Louis spoke as soon as Brad answered.

"Boss ZERO," Brad, still having his meal, stood up and responded respectfully.

"Get two big, well-disguised trucks to the city outskirts and a spacious warehouse, preferably one owned by you. I need them to shelter some orphans. Can this task be completed?"

"Yes, Boss."

"Okay, I'll be expecting," Louis said as he turned back, noticing the children peeking at him to check if he had abandoned them.

"Are you kids done?"

The children chorused a joyful "yes" as they exited the building, carrying their clothes and belongings.

"You don't need them. You're starting a new life afresh."

"YEEEH," the children chorused with joy.

Brad, having just received a call, swiftly took action. He called two trusted drivers to bring two large trucks to the location specified by ZERO.

"Vita, instruct the warehouse personnel to clear and clean the warehouse. Also, get daily necessities needed by the children."

The first truck, with Louis seated beside the driver, pulled up after entering a wide space in front of a building. The second truck followed soon after. The children joyfully jumped down, running to the warehouse that had been carefully prepared for them.

"Well done," Louis praised Brad, who had walked over.

"Thank you, Boss."

A beep diverted Louis's attention.

"I think you should have an answer in case any inquiries come up."

"I'm tired of being a dandy, and I decided to benefit society," Brad said with full pretense.

"I already know you're a talented actor, so you don't have to give me that drama."

"Yes, BOSS."

"I plan to put you in charge of our first physical building on this continent. I have a big idea for this project: building a huge dome that's a mix of aesthetics and practical use. The front part will be a big shopping area with lots of nicely designed stores for all kinds of businesses, from home appliances to weapons. It's going to be a lively and exciting place.

The outside of the dome will look really classy, with beautiful design that fits in with the city around it.

Once you step inside the dome, you'll see something amazing – it's not just a regular building inside. The layout is like a big amphitheater, curving towards a center stage. This stage can hold a million people and will be the main spot for entertainment and cultural events, making it an incredible experience for anyone who comes, although it will mainly be the venue for our auctions.

The seating in the amphitheater is set up so that everyone gets a great view, no matter where they sit. The sound and lighting will be carefully planned to make events even more awesome.

Towards the back of the dome, there will be some fancy halls and offices. These spaces are designed to meet the needs of different groups, providing top-notch facilities for meetings, conferences, and other events. The design focuses on being useful while still looking good.

Basically, this project is all about bringing together business, culture, and new ideas in an awesome building. The dome will be both a busy shopping area and a huge amphitheater; it would be our first and maybe only physical building on this continent."

Brad was already amazed by the detailed description as he envisioned the potential of such a building.

"Lest I forget, it is very important that the logo of a coiled dragon be in all necessary places, including the front of the dome and on the amphitheater stage."

"Noted, BOSS."

"How many days will it take to complete this mighty structure?" Louis asked as he concluded his words.

Brad took a deep breath and looked up after a few seconds of silence. "It would take at least a month if all things go as planned."

"Okay, then."

"And remember to keep the children safe. You should also provide the children with general literacy education and rank them based on their intelligence. In case of any emergency, contact me on your WCD."

"Yes, BOSS."

"Remember that your initiation depends on these two important tasks I've given you," Louis said as he walked out of the warehouse.

Just as Louis exited, another beep sounded in his ears. He didn't wait to check the notification; instead, he looked up and saw that it was already dark. He made his way to a nearby inn to get some rest (a robot getting rest?). As soon as his room was arranged, he went inside, shut the door, and shut down, turning into a puddle of clear liquid on the bed.

NOTE: This present continent is like the modern earth except for the concept of cultivation and magic and the concept of Kingdoms, Empires and Dynasties.

You may be wondering what of the Location? It's of less importance as Louis has confidence that even if it's in the desert people would come.
