GBOOSH, he sank.
Louis who fell unexpectedly could not control himself in the air, he landed on his head as he fell unconscious.
When Louis woke up, it was half past two in the morning, he had slept almost for twelve hours. He found out that no poisonous insect or beast had attacked him since he went unconscious and even his pursuers did not get his location.
"I knew this tree must be mysterious as it was different from all other trees in this part of the forest".
Louis checked all he had brought with him; the spatial ring he was not yet able to open, the bracelet which was a gift from his mother, the ID Card given by the City Lord and the Guild Card from the Warrior's guild. All was complete in their respective positions.
Louis stood and wanted to find a way of getting out the pit as his intuition cultivated from various years of being a scientist told him that he was in a very dangerous zone with Zero Percent of coming out alive but he turned to his right where there was a cave as he felt something was there that was very important to him. He was confused for a while before he decided to risk it and he trudged on tiredly towards the cave in which the tree rooted in.
Louis saw a lot of passages which actually made it look at puzzle but he continued to journey on the main passage on a straight line which was dark except for a few places where the touches on which flame blazed calmly were situated at both sides of the corridor.
"Why touches and not lamp since this is a modern world?", Louis thought as he observed the graffiti and low relief sculptures on the walls lining the passage.
Louis continued to walk fast and cautiously as the weird shadows caused by the strange alternations of light and darkness was so scary. He walked for a few minutes without encountering any trap for few minutes before he entered a very big circular hall.
The passage he came in through was not the only one as other passages joined the hall from various directions. The round hall was nicely and weirdly decorated at the same time with themes of black and red which aroused Louis's curiosity. Just like the passage, the sources of light in the hall were flaming touches which were almost round the hall.
Curiosity which had always been his driving force drove him to the dark place in the hall and as he was moving closer, he was noticing scattered pieces of bones. The closer he gets, the less scattered the bones were until he was practically walking on bones, all he could see were various different types of bones of different sizes and ages. Louis bent over and touched few pieces of bones, their structure looked different from humans which made him more curious about this continent that the inhabitants thought was a planet.
"This heap of bones consist of mixture of bones of humans, humanoid species and beasts", Louis thought as he stopped and continued to sample the pieces of bones around him.
He spent few minutes looking at a very large collection of bone samples as all he was seeing was samples before he continued as he avoided stepping on a lot of bones.
Louis suddenly noticed a dim light coming from a group of candles surrounding a black painted coffin. Louis was shocked but the urge to move towards the black coffin prevailed so he tiptoed, trying to be as careful as possible.
The moment he touched the lid of the coffin, the coffin opened and an eerie wind began to blow and in a few seconds all the candles are dead making the place very dark as the beam of light from the touches in the hall seems to be reflected out of the area.
Louis soon began to shiver as a result of extreme cold and fear of the unknown.
Inside the coffin lies a dead body, but the strange thing is that this dead body is still completely with no signs of decomposition even though they have been there for a very long time. As soon as Louis opened the lid of the coffin, he opened his eyes slowly and the black wind began.
"This body even though not good enough is manageable for my soul to possess and leave this damned place".
YEEEH. YEEEH. YEEEH.
Louis cried out as he felt a serious headache as he felt something trying to enter his head. He held his head with his two hands trying to relieve the sudden strange headache but it got worse. Soon blood began to leak from all the openings in the head; the eyes, nostrils, mouth and ears.
"Surrender.. Surrender", was all he could hear as it sounded like a loud whisper in his mind trying to influence his will. Louis persisted, it got to a time when he was mentally drained and he almost gave up but reasons he should not give up continued to strengthen his mind.
The struggle for supremacy continued for about thirty minutes, Louis had tried his best but there seems not to be an end to the headache. The whispers in his mind had turned to a fierce laughter as he could notice that Louis had no strength to resist.
Suddenly a virtual interface appeared in Louis's view.
[Emergency booting]
[Invasion from an external source observed]
[Option A: Allowed]
[Option B: Destroy and merge memory]
[Option C: Contained and controlled in the form of Artificial Intelligence]
Louis who was shocked and surprised was amazed to see the interface. It was not new to him as he had read a lot of books on Systems during his spare time as fantasy had always being his way of escaping from reality.
[Random Choice starts in 3... 2... 1...]
Before it would reach Zero, Louis selected option C with his mind as he had read in Novels.
[Order Accomplished]
After that voice, everything turned black and the interface disappeared. Louis tried to activate the System in his mind but it didn't work out. That was when he remembered that what just happened was because his life was in danger.
"I have to find a way to activate the System", Louis thought as he moved closer to see the other contents of the coffin.
