Chapter 7 - Chapter 7: What it means to hide who you are

"I won't kill you just yet." He said and I stared at him blankly. His voice was dark and deep, he sounded like he came from the deepest depths of the underworld. "Then what do you want from me?" I asked and he chuckled while gently placing me back on my feet.

"Entertainment!" He announced happily with his arms raised in the air. "What makes you think I would want to entertain you?"

"Cause you have no choice." He said with his arms behind his back. "So you say?" I stroked my chin while looking at my kidnapper. He looked to be 6.5 covered from head to toe with dark and bulky armor.

His eyes glowed an ominous shade of orange mixed with grey, I think it was smoke. "This is what I want you to do for me. I want you to get stronger because I will visit you every 5 years of your life to fight you. If you fail to become strong enough to defeat me on your third installment. I will kill you and EVERYONE YOU LOVE." He said and I was shaken for an instant. My legs quaking at the imagination of being slaughtered by this man.

Fear gripped my throat leaving nothing but gasps for breath escaping my mouth. "No no no, don't get scared now, how will you be in the next 5 years when we meet again?" He asked and giggled evilly while closing the distance between us.

"W-why are you doing this!? What do you want from me!?" I screamed in fear while glaring at him hoping I could just kill him with looks alone. "Like I said, Entertainment." :)

He said and he disappeared into the flames he created leaving me traumatized. His power … his power is one that could destroy continents!

My parents noticed the flames disappear and saw some just seated there staring at the floor with empty eyes.

My mother ran to my side and hugged me tightly as tears cascaded down her face. "Marcus are you okay!? Say something!!" She screamed and I whispered in her ears.

"I-I need to get stronger, or… everyone… I love will die." I said and I too started to shade a few years out of fear for my fate. They took me home avoiding the masses of people who wanted to ask about me.

I was left alone in my room cause I requested for space. I looked towards my hands and noticed a tattoo on my shoulder. It was the Crest for the Crimson Lions. My mother's Crest. I lit up a fire with my own hands and watched dance gently on my fingers.

"I can't remain afraid all my life. I need to get stronger! Whatever it takes! I will protect those who are dear to me. Will you help me Aurelia?" I asked and she started to rematerialize.

Her body started to form starting with her soul that was deep blue, her eyes shone like the brightest stars in the sky. Her roared thundered across the large bedroom as the metal soon took shape.

She dropped on one knee from mid air with a loud Clang. "Ofcourse my Lord. I vow to stay by your side no matter what!" She said and I tapped her shoulder for her too look up.

"Is that a promise?" I asked with my hand raised to make a fist bump. She stared at the tiny 6 year old boy confidently raise his fist and she smiled. "Ofcourse it is." She said and returned the fist bump almost like it was out of instinct.

I was enrolled in the magic school about 2 years later. It was an elemental school where children who specialized in fire, ice, water and air came to meet and learn new ways to show case their talents. The funny thing is there are no humans who serve the air Elemental.

The Air Elemental is served by Demi humans whose species are the minority due to the war that took place 400years ago. Their race was targeted first and their hero killed. It's only recently that their hero was replaced by a young lady of the Royal Family.

I approached the school gate and stared at it with awe. 'This is actually like those Manga my fiancée loved reading! Better make friends so I can have backup in the future.' I thought to myself as I walked in.

'I am currently 8 years old and for the past 2 years, I heavily trained and hardened my skills with my fire element. My father and Aurelia were my sparing partners.

The maids would stare at me train day and night, tirelessly cracking every bone in my body in fear of having lost my mind. It's only my parents who understood my reason to push myself to the absolute limit.

I vowed to become strong enough to protect all those who are important to me even if it was the last thing I did.

Hardly had I lost myself in thought than I bumped into a girl who wore tinted glasses. She had three other girls following her, she gave off the vibe of a popular girl at highschool. This sure takes me back to my time at highschool. I knocked over her books by accident and I felt like a total idiot!

"I am so sorry!" I said and handed her the books I dropped. Handing them to her, she immediately struck me on the head with a rock she pulled out of the ground with her power. "Watch where you are going or I will drop a bigger rock on you next time." She said it coldly and walked past me.

"Well I think you gotta stay away from Tamara from now on man." A boy said to me while holding his hand out to me. I took it and he pulled me back on my feet. "Thanks." I said and he smiled.

"No problem, I am Vincent, Vincent Wellburne of the Hydra!" He said and shook my hand. He had white pale skin, blonde hair and ocean blue eyes. "I am Marcus Coulthard of the Crimson lions." I said and he gasped.

"Wait is your father Thee Edmond Coulthard!?" He sounded like a fan girl. "Umm yeah he is? You've heard of him?" I asked and he nodded his head rapidly like he was a dog!

"He is the strongest commander of the Imperial Army without a golem! No one has ever reached that level in the army without one! Wait do you have a golem?" He asked and I looked to the floor for a minute.

"I would rather not talk about it." I said and he looked at me with pity. "Its alright if you don't wanna talk about it." He said and I appreciated his ability to know when not to intrude.

"Let's be best buddies!" He announced and I stared at him for a second. "I think that title is earned?" I said while chuckling. "Ohh that makes more sense." He said and smiled.

Walking into the front yard of the school, we witnessed a little girl being bullied by a group of three boys. I looked at the their crest and realized one was from the Earth Province with the crest of the World Serpent, another from the water province with the crest of the Shark and finally one from the fire province with the crest of the crimson bull.

"Hey man, I know you want to save that girl but those guys are our seniors! We can't fight em and win!!" He tried to warn me and I ignored him.

"Hold my bag for me." I said and approached the boys. "Hey guys could you leave the girl alone?" I asked and the they looked at each other and laughed their lungs out.

"And what are you gonna do about it?" The Crimson bull boy asked. Hardly had he asked when he was immediately sent flying by a blast of fire from my hands. Vincent's jaw dropped as he watched me close my distance between me and my new punching bags.

"I am not asking, I am telling!" I said coldly as my eyes lit up in flames with a fierce glare only a lion could muster.
