Chapter 9 - Chapter 9: Unrivaled Destruction

"Wait a minute… Where kids go to die!?" I questioned their choice of words because the sound of kids dying isn't very fitting for a school level establishment!

"Arent you exaggerating the stakes of the situation a little too high?" I asked and the dark skinned teenager pointed towards a a couple of piled up bones with weapons stacked recklessly against the dried up corpses. 'Guess he isn't'

"Hello dear children, welcome to the Labyrinth of lost souls where children who are naughty, come to die!" We heard a feminine voice boom from behind what seemed like hidden speakers!? 'In this day and era!? No way!!' I thought to myself.

We lived in an era similar to the medieval times, times before any significant inventions and it was my mother that helped me realize it.

My mother once showed me the toilet I would be using and I had to say that I didn't appreciate how it was built,no where for the wastes to go. These people had little to no regard for public health and safety.

I soon came to realize with the knowledge I was allowed to store from my past, I could become the richest man in the world with what I have to offer these peasants.

But the fact that they may have a speaker or something close to it means that there might be someone else who is going to beat me to it.

"You will have exactly an hour to escape this place before the exit closes before your eyes. If you fail, you will die and be signed out as missing." She explained and I flinched realizing how heartless these people were.

"There are different mystical beasts in here, so use the power that you showcased on my courtyard to escape or die knowing you were weak and talentless bastards." She said and signed out almost immediately.

"So what are we going to do!?" Claude asked in shock of his soon to be untimely demise. "We escape, that's all it is." I answered while inspecting the floors for traps.

"Oh yeah!? And how do you expect to do that with the walls being this tall!?" Geo asked and stamped the ground, shaking it and revealed something very critical to our escape.

"We use the Labyrinth's weakness." I said while taping against the walls and found a weak point.

I took a step back and point towards my latest discovery. Geo nodded and forced his fist forward shattering a portion of the whole into pebbles.

"Are y'all coming or what?" I questioned and they walked forward without much argument. The fact that there were monsters in the labyrinth meant that we could keep stamping the ground to find weak points.

I came up with a new plan. "Hey Claude, could you use the water in your bottle to fill up the cracks in this part of the wall?" I questioned and he scoffed while waving back his hair.

"Ofcourse I can !" He said and moved the water into the cracks. "Now expand it." I commanded and he used a lot of his strength to do what I told him. In a few seconds, the wall's cracks increased in size and fell to the ground!

"How did yo-!?"

"My mother taught me." This was a lie. We kept going through different paths until we arrived at a cross road.

"What now Mr. Genius?" Geo asked as if taunting me to make the the realization I didn't know what to do next.

I stroked my chin and came up with a plan. I lit up a fire ball and sent ut through the pathway on my right and saw something very terrifying lying dormant at the end of it.

My breathing quickened but I endeavored to control it. "What is in there?" Geo asked while staring at my terrified face.

"Something that could end our very existence in a matter of seconds." I said and they all winced at the thought.

Rushing through the pathway on the right, we arrived in a dark giant square room with multiple vines hanging around, corpses constructed in those very vines and eerie sounds of water dripping all around us. It's ceiling was so high up that it wasn't even visible. "Why are they wrapped up in these vines?" Claude asked while looking around in fear. "Suicide I must presume." The fire boy stated without being dazed and walked ahead of us.

Our silence made it evident that the sounds of our very footsteps echoed through out the room. We soon arrived at pond that stretched far and wide signaling that we had to swim across.

Hardly had I started to prepare my self for the dive when Claude gripped my shoulders and pulled me back! "There is something in that water!!" He whispered while in the verge of tears.

We all took a step back and Geo suddenly tossed a small rock into the water. The water rippled silently, the waves gently dancing above the black water until six giant eyes that glowed with an ominous white revealed themselves from with in the pool.

The water rose along with the eyes as the ground we stood on shook like it realized it was in the presence of a true monster.

We all stood in place as we watched it rise up from its slumber under water to reveal a dark and tall creature covered in arrows and scars, teeth that spiraled like a mincer, tentacles with spikes the size of my body and eyes that looked like those of death itself.

The monster glared at us in the same silence we returned to it. "Maybe… if we don't mov-!" Geo whispered silently and the monster screeched while raising all twelve of its tentacles.

"OH SHIT!!" Claude screamed as the tentacles came rain down on us shaking the very foundation of the room. "We need to find a way out!" I roared and soon saw rocks drop from above falling towards me.
