"Please wait outside. The doctor will do their best to attend to your husband." The nurse spoke while restraining Serena, who was almost entering the ICU.
Serena cried while holding onto Shawn, who stood beside her. The child looked confused about what was happening, and he seemed shocked to the point of crying too, seeing Serena in such a panic, especially witnessing Hugh bleeding so much.
"Mommy, what's wrong with Daddy? Why is there red liquid coming out of Daddy's stomach?" Shawn looked up at Serena with tears streaming down his face. Serena, who saw her son crying, immediately squatted down in front of him. She then hugged Shawn's body tightly.
"Daddy is okay, Sweetie. You don't need to worry. Now we better stay calm, and we'll wait until they're done, okay?" Serena tried to stay strong.
