When she woke up, fortunately, it was not to the sound of orcish warhorns, nor of battle screams.
Instead, it was the gentle touch of Adrien on her shoulder, as torchlight shone through the open door of the carriage.
"Lady Emily...." He spoke in a soft voice, despite the fact that his intent was to wake her. "We've arrived at the safe house. We're leaving the carriage now and going inside. Come."
"Whuh...?" She mumbled sleepily.
The sound of her own voice echoed faintly inside her brain and she blinked several times as her eyelids fluttered open slowly.
"...Right..."
She pushed herself upright and stretched her arms over her head, yawning loudly as she rubbed at her eyes before finally climbing out of the carriage and following after Adrien as he exited himself.
