Trisha's eyes widened with concern. "How do you know about this?" she asked with worry.
Dashiell leaned back with serious expression. "I have some informants working on this case. They've gathered intel suggesting that the mayor has an insider feeding him information. It's more than just a suspicion; we have evidence that points to someone within our ranks."
"Damn," Trisha muttered, shaking her head. "So, what's the plan?"
"I'm going to try talking with the mayor and making him see reason," Dashiell said. "If that doesn't work, we may have to resort to more drastic measures."
"What kind of measures?" she asked warily.
"I'm not sure yet," Dashiell admitted. "But if it comes to that, we'll figure it out."
"I can't believe this is happening." Trisha ran a hand through her hair, clearly frustrated.
