Dashiell pulled out his satellite phone, the one he'd set up specifically for private calls. He dialed Robert Thompson, his PA back at the headquarters. As he waited for the call to connect, he paced a little, clearly frustrated.
"Come on, Robert, pick up," he muttered to himself. After a few rings, Robert's voice came through, sounding a bit tinny but clear.
"Robert, it's Dashiell. I need an update on the Azure Bay as I told you before," Dashiell said, trying to keep his tone steady despite the stress. "Now I'm getting reports that we're short on several crucial items after a series of incidents."
There was a brief silence.
"The mayor," Robert answered. "He's indeed causing trouble, sir."
Dashiell's jaw tightened. "What sort of trouble?" he asked sharply. "Have you been able to find out what exactly the mayor is up to? Any details on his actions or motives would be really helpful right now."
