The figure grew clearer as it approached, and Trisha's heart sank when she saw that it wasn't Dashiell. Instead, it was one of the workers from another section of the site, drenched and exhausted.
"Hey!" the worker shouted over the roar of the storm as he reached them. "We've got another problem over at the east side!"
Trisha's brow furrowed with concern. "What's happened?"
The worker wiped his face with his grim expression. "The retaining wall collapsed. There's water flooding the area, and the whole structure's at risk. We need to get over there and stabilize it before it gets worse."
Trisha pushed her worry about Dashiell aside as the new issue demanded her attention. She nodded, her face set in determination. "Alright, let's head over there. We need to make sure that doesn't turn into another disaster."
Jake stopped her as she was about to leave. "We can't drive any further in this weather. The jeep won't make it."
