Later that afternoon, Jazlyn walked into the break room, her thoughts still lingering on Dashiell. She found Trisha making coffee, and the two women greeted each other warmly.
"So, how was the meeting?" Jazlyn asked.
"It was alright. The board was pleased with the progress we've made, and they're optimistic about the project's future." Trisha smiled, putting on a brave face.
She was careful to leave out the full truth. There had been some concerns and setbacks that she didn't want to delve into, especially with Jazlyn. Keeping the conversation upbeat was easier than going into all the stressful details. She wanted to maintain a positive outlook, both for her own sake and to avoid adding to Jazlyn's curiosity or concern.
