Without wasting another second, Daisy hugged Angel and dashed towards the door but before she could reach the door, she felt the touch of a cold metal on the back of her head.
And following that, there were sounds of approaching footsteps. There was not one, nor two but at least more than five people in the house.
''Surrender,'' the person who had pressed the gun on her head spoke up.
Daisy did not say anything, except for subtly pressing Angel's head into her chest to prevent her from inhaling the fog for as long as she could but she knew it was not working. Angel was getting restless in her arms.
''Grab the child and throw her aside,'' the man commanded his people.
Daisy's eyes turned bloodshot and her fingers clenched into a fist.
Was this going to be her end?
She did not know.
All she knew was that before anybody could lay a finger on Angel, they would die or she would lose her life.
