Chapter 26 - Overnight field trip (final part).

The ghost girl and Mariel walked deep into the forest and reached a small stream in front of them. Then she turned and touched Mariel's right cheek. Mariel suddenly felt as if she had woken up from being hypnotized. She began to regain consciousness and was shocked by her surroundings where were only large trees covering the whole area. It included the sound of various types of insects that can't be guessed how many types there were in this area.

"How was I here? Why? And you. Ouch!" Mariel asked but it stopped immediately when the ghost girl hugged her tightly.

"Thank you for being able to feel up to my desires. Thank you very much." the ghost girl said with tears all over her cheeks in joy.

"Who are you?" Mariel asked curiously.

The girl in the long white robe slowly pulled away from Mariel, their eyes looking at each other. This ghost girl had a shadow shaped body, but it could be easily seen. She was as tall as Mariel, but her eyes looked sad, as if she were suffering inside her.

"My name is Nadia. I was a ghost who has lived in this forest for the past 10 years. I was so sorry to scare you, but I had always waited for someone to know about my past and the suffering I have had." Nadia said.

"My name is Mariel. Why was I able to see you?" Mariel asked with further doubt.

"I wasn't sure about this because many schools that came to stay. The teachers would always cast magic protection walls around the building, it made anything from outside unable to come inside. I was unable to enter the accommodation and I just prayed that there's someone out there who could hear what I was trying to say. This was the first time you were aware of what I had sent to you." Nadia explained.

(I could understand that maybe the ghost would send telepathy to me and made it possible to see each other, touched and communicated with each other too.) (Chai thinking)

Nadia led Mariel by holding hands and sat together beside the stream as they slowly lowered their legs into the stream. The cool water made Mariel feel relaxed and fearless.

"Then why had you been here all the time? Nadia." Mariel asked curiously.

"I wanted to meet a friend. I wanted to tell you the painful story that I went through." Nadia said with sadness.

"Could you please tell me?" Mariel begged.

Nadia slowly raised her head to look at Mariel. They began to look into each other's eyes. Nadia's eyes were filled with sadness and looked so dark inside.

"Looked into my eyes, I had something I want you to see." Nadia said.

Mariel stared at Nadia's eyes for a moment. It was like being immediately sucked into Nadia's thoughts within those two eyes.

Marielle suddenly felt like she had been teleported to a different place. It looked like a small village with about 20 houses.

*Scream*

The pained cries of men and women suddenly sounded out around Mariel.

The atmosphere around Mariel was filled with a deadly aura, brutal and cruel all over the area.

These large black demons with hawk-like faces, red eyes, and large black wings on their backs were viciously slaughtering people.

The sound of magic trying to fight against the demons could not be stopped but they were unable to resist the demon armies that were three times the number of humans.

Mariel saw the carnage all around her, the smell of blood and more corpses of people died.

"Hurry up and run away, Nadia!" A woman's voice shouted to her daughter.

Mariel immediately turned to look at that voice. She found that Nadia was running towards Mariel with a frightened expression and tears covered both her cheeks. She ran past Mariel through into the deep forest in front of her.

*Scream* The sound in painful from Nadia's mother, who was pierced by a demon with sharp claws, caused her to die almost immediately after screaming.

"Mom!" Nadia turned to look at the extremely heartbreaking sight. Her mother died and her dad had just fought against demons and died along with other people before.

"Gazzz!" (Kill that kid!) the chief of demon army voice commanded the others.

A demon flew close to Nadia with such speed that she was barely within close range. Suddenly, sharp claws covered with dark magic targeted her back.

Ah!!!!! Nadia's voice screamed in pain. The claws damaged three large wounds in the middle of her back, blood flowing out non-stop.

Nadia continued to run despite being seriously injured while that demon preparing to kill her again, but...

Nadia fell down a steep slope to a bottom full of bushes. She rolled down until she disappeared into a bush. The demon tried to use its fire magic to burn up the bushes to find her.

"Gazzz!!!" (All humans were dead. Retreat!!!) The demon army leader shouted throughout the area.

The demon that had followed Nadia looked at the remaining unburned bushes, but it also prepared to retreat.

"Gazzz!!" (The blood must have flowed out of her body until she died. Lol) Then the demon flew away and joined the others in the village before flying up into the sky and retreating completely.

Nadia slowly crawled out of the bushes with a pained expression on her face. Blood flowed from her back non-stop until it covered her entire body and flowed down to the stream in front of her, causing the water to turn red. Her vision became blurry, and her strength slowly ran out.

The girl crawled to the stream in front of her, her hands slowly lowered into the water. Consciousness began to fade, and she was dying soon.

"Dad...Mom...I love you…" The last words were spoken from Nadia's mouth before she died next to the stream there.

*Wink*

Mariel, who had been watching the last seconds of Nadia's life with the utmost sadness and pain in her eyes, was suddenly teleported back to the present time at the same stream.

Nadia cried next to Mariel, the bitterness, the pain, the injustice she had suffered was more than a young girl could bear.

"I just want to live a peaceful life. I want to live with my father and mother. Why does this world have demons? They kill everything in their path. It was so cruel to me." Nadia couldn't stop crying while talking.

(I know the pain that Nadia has met. She loses her dad and mom at the same time. It's the cruelest thing in her life. And she also dies alone here. I can't stand it anymore) (Chai thinking)

Mariel thought of many things that caused resentment in her heart. She was very happy to have her father and mother by her side. Even though she survived from death once time. But with Nadia, all that was left was a spirit body that was staying here, lived alone, and waited for someone to know her painful story.

Mariel clenched her fists, gritting her teeth with rage. She slowly walked over and embraced Nadia with care. Even though Nadia was just a spirit body, it was incredible to feel like she was another human being when they touched each other's bodies.

Nadia felt the warmth of Mariel's embrace, slowly embraced back and then cried out in pain.

"I know everything about your past. I promise to destroy all the demons. Everyone will be able to live together in peace again." Mariel said with determination.

Nadia looked at Mariel with bright eyes despite the tears that couldn't stop flowing. The suffering that held her soul was finally released. From now on, she had nothing more to worry about, after Mariel recognized her feelings.

"Thank you very much. Can you promise me? Mariel." Nadia said.

"I promise." Mariel said.

Nadia slowly kissed Mariel's right cheek, warmth spreads to Mariel body.

Then something miraculous happened. Nadia's spirit body gradually shone brighter than before. It's time to go to the next life that is waiting for her.

"I'm not worried anymore. The road ahead awaits me. I hope we will meet again, Mariel." Nadia said with tears in her eyes.

"See you later, Nadia." Marielle said, tears out from her cheeks as well.

A light shone throughout the deep forest. Nadia's body gradually glowed until it was pure white, then slowly disappeared in front of Mariel.

"I will make your dreams come true, Nadia." Mariel said, wiping tears from both her cheeks. Her eyes are now more determined than before.

"From now on I need to take life more seriously. In this world, there are still many innocent people killed by demons. I must be better than this. I need to train harder. Watch me, Nadia." Mariel said confidently as she walked out of the deep forest and back to the building.

Mariel climbed up the window and came back into the room. She washed her feet with water to remove all the dirt and then went to sleep.

The next morning, the teachers and all the students had breakfast. Then they packed up their luggage and prepared to return to school. Everyone had a bright, cheerful expression and talked together.

"You seem quiet. Is something wrong?" Frederick noticed that Mariel was silent and asked with concern.

"Oh, it's nothing." Mariel answered.

Many hours have passed. All 3 school buses returned to the school, with parents waiting to pick up their children with joyful expressions on their faces.

"Was the field trip fun?" Shiki's parents asked.

"It was fun, Mom." Shiki replied.

The other families also asked their children with happy expressions on their faces, but Mariel remained silent until Deric and Claudia noticed.

"Is something wrong, Mariel? You seem quiet." Deric asked curiously.

"Oh, it's nothing. Can you train with me after we get home? Dad." Mariel asked.

"Why?" Deric asked.

"It's nothing. I just want to practice my skills better." Mariel answered with determination.

Deric stared into Mariel's eyes and understood what she meant.

"Sure, prepare yourself!" Deric said, patting his daughter's shoulder lightly.

"So, was the field trip fun?" Claudia asked.

"It was fun, Mom. This was one of the best experiences of my life." Mariel replied with a smile on her face.

"Very well." Claudia replied.

"See you later, Mariel." Frederick said, waving at her before getting ready to get into the car and head home as well.

"See you later, Frederick." Mariel said, waving goodbye too.

Deric, Claudia, and Mariel rode home together. Mariel's eyes wandered out to the wide, forested field on the side of the road. It suddenly reminded her of last night's events again.

"Cheer me up, Nadia." Mariel said.

After arriving at the house, Mariel put her belongings in her bedroom and immediately went down to prepare to train with Deric.

"Are you ready? Mariel." Deric asked.

"I am ready, Dad!" Mariel replied, holding up her sword and preparing to fight.

"Ice Magic Field!" Deric said and immediately used advanced ice magic but this time it was different as Mariel didn't seem worried anymore. Instead, she boosted her wind magic and prepared to fight.

"Let's fight!" Mariel said and immediately charged Deric.

"That's my daughter! Lol." Deric shouted in satisfaction.

Two magics crashed into each other until a loud noise was heard throughout the surrounding area. Although the result, Mariel still lost as before, but this made even more progress.

Deric wrapped his arm around his daughter's shoulder after two full hours of practice.

"Very good, Mariel. I'm proud of you." Deric praised.

Mariel didn't answer but looked up to her dad with her smile.
