Fifty-seven. ....she was Lily
Monalissa finally opened her eyes at dusk. She let out a soft moan as she tried to adjust to her surroundings. She tried moving her body, but couldn't as there was something heavy preventing her from making any move. She looked down and saw an arm holding her. It looked manly and kinda familiar. Raising her head to look... Oh my! Ma...master?!
Her face was almost close to his. She tried her best not to move recklessly but it was futile. Ezekiel seemed to have noticed her movements and opened his eyes. He must have fallen asleep while waiting for her.
"Walker", he called her, his voice hoarse.
Monalissa blinked, her lashes fluttering like the wings of a butterfly. This attracted Ezekiel who noticed the thickness of her lashes and its length. This wasn't the first time though but it was as if, he hadn't seen it before.
"Yes master?", she answered.
"You're awake?", he asked.
"Yes. But... master what are you doing here?", she asked.
"Because you didn't want to wake up. You kept sleeping", he replied. His voice was doing many things to her and she couldn't explain it.
"Oh...", she trailed off. "Then, I will go now. Master should have a good sleep", she said and tried to move.
"Walker I swear if you try moving again, I will give you a reason to".
Monalissa halted. She didn't understand what he meant but she knew that it wasn't going to end well if she moved again. "Yes, I won't move again".
"Why did you suddenly faint? What happened to you?"
Monalissa didn't say anything. She didn't know what to say. It would sound so absurd if she said that it was the designs on the couch that stimulated her mind.
"Walker, I asked you a question", Ezekiel reminded.
Monalissa bit down on her lips. Immediately, she felt a sharp pain on her waist. This made her release her lips which were a bit swollen due to the bite.
"Don't do that next time", he warned.
"Yes master", she replied and swallowed. The pinch was really painful.
"You haven't answered my question".
Monalissa took in a deep breath. "I hope it doesn't sound ridiculous to you master", she said.
"Talk".
"It's the designs on the cushions".
Silence. Deafening silence.
" Master"
"Walker...who are you?", he asked looking into her eyes. It was as if he wanted to find the answers he was looking for in those hazel eyes.
Monalissa gave a start. "Master, there's nothing else to hide from you again. You know everything about me master".
Ezekiel's heart was in turmoil. He didn't want to believe what his mind was telling him. It was ridiculous to him. There's no way she's Lily.
Those designs on the cushion were floral designs created by Lily when she was little. She had shown it to him saying that this was their design.
"Hey, this will be our design. This is a flower that only us two know. No one else knows about this", little Lily had said. That was why he had embroided the flower on the cushion. He didn't expect much when he embroided it but now that Monalissa had said it...
Arianna was mad with anger at the news that was brought in. She smashed the flower vase on the head of the leader of the gang. Blood trickled down.
"How could you be so careless?! Bastards. What did I pay you for?!"
The members of the gang fell to their knees. "Forgive us Miss", their leader pleaded.
"They were so swift. We couldn't even see them", the leader explained as he was still filled with awe at how the car was maneuvered theirs.
"Get out. Now!"
"Yes", they chorused and left.
Arianna grimaced. She had to do something. She had to. At that moment, her cellphone rang.
"Hello", she said when she picked it up.
"How can you be so incompetent?", Elijah's cold voice said, his tone taunting.
"I missed my shot. Give me another chance", Arianna pleaded.
"Meet me at Delmar hotels", he said.
"Why?", she asked her eyes widening.
"At four, tomorrow".
