Chapter 23 - Twenty-two: The person from behind

Twenty-two: The person from behind

Her feet moved followed by her body, the combination forming an exciting beginning. The man who held the celebrant arched his brows the moment she moved her body. He should have been proud that she was using a honey-trap tactic but his forehead rumpled in a tight frown when he noticed the eyes of all the males ogling with desire. His hand that was rested on the seat clenched in a tight fold as his veins popped.

However, the girl that was under the spotlight was oblivious of the raging storm that was brewing in the heart of the devil who had made her do this.

Her target, Mr Banks had his old and astute eyes glued to the girl who was swaying her slender figure to the nice rhythm formed by the music. He was mesmerized and under the influence had drunk his sixth glass of whiskey that was served.

Monalissa looked up towards the end of her dance, her smile dazzling almost blinding the target. Ezekiel nearly spat out blood. He wondered where she had learnt all of this. Thanks to Miss Fords party, he was able to see another side of Walker.

Her slender feet that were wrapped in that tight sandals spread out a little, her plump chest bent forward in a beautiful arch with her arms hanging loosely but beautifully by her side, she brought the dance to an end, bringing everyone to their feet with their hands jamming in series of applauses. She gave a side smile not caring about whatever it was but was grateful that her hard work paid off. Mr Banks was standing, his eyes never leaving her. She gave a deep bow to Miss Fords and then to the audience.

"Thanks for inviting us to celebrate your return" , was all she said, in that hoarse voice that was sexy.

Arianna smiled at her I'm appreciation.

"That's my pleasure", she replied and looked at the man that was beside her. However, his eyes wasn't on her neither was it on the audience. It was somewhere else. It was on the girl who had just performed. Her eyes turned to slits as her female instincts kicked in. She couldn't fathom what look that was but, for a man like Ezekiel Don to look at someone for long, there must be something dancing behind the shadows. Either he hated that person or he liked that person. However ,she never heard of him liking anyone so, she chose the former. She made a mental note to look into whoever that girl was.

The reporters weren't people to miss such an interesting episode at the Fords banquet. 'The dance of allure' as the girl in red had called it. Their cameras followed her all the way to the place where she sat down. Monalissa grimaced and cursed that devil so many times in her heart.

After that scene, everyone went to greet the the young Miss Fords. They handed her gifts upon gifts. Monalissa's turn arrived and she gave her a pack of paint brushes.

Arianna arched a brow at the gift and looked at Monalissa. Monalissa was unnerved as she looked back at her. No one was to intimidate her, not even Ezekiel. Or maybe only him.

"You're a lover of the arts, I guess that one should do you good on your return", Monalissa said.

"But I have to take over family business, so I don't have time for painting", Arianna replied.

Monalissa gathered her thoughts. Is she trying to ridicule me? Family business? Don't have time for painting? Crap! Monalissa sneered in her heart and said, "It's what you like doing. Everyone always has a spare time in their lives. You could use yours. I'll patronize you".

Arianna arched a brow. "Alright. Thanks Miss..."

"Walker"

"Yeah".

Monalissa smiled at her and turned to go. She didn't bother looking over at the man whom she felt his gaze on her from the moment she came to hand in her gift. Having seated for a while, she spun into action.

Her bodyguard was on sight so she signalled him and he arrived. She gave her orders to him, playing the boss lady part well. The bodyguard nodded after she had said somethings to him before leaving. She took to her feet and began ascending the stairs that led to where Mr Banks was. She had almost taken the last step when someone held her from behind. She turned to look at the person...
