Chapter 29 - Twenty-eight. If only....

Twenty-eight. If only....

The only thing Monalissa heard after she had spoken was his mocking scoff. She looked at him in the eyes as she couldn't bring herself to move.

"So you knew this isn't your room".

"I'm sorry master", she said. Her mind did a scan on what had happened the previous day and the only thing she could remember was leaving the gardens after talking to Mr Banks. She didn't need anyone to tell her that she had been drunk.

"I'm sorry for getting drunk master", she apologized in her most polite tone with her head bowed.

Ezekiel's eyes turned to slits at the thought of what she had put him through.

"So now you know how to apologize?"

"It was my first time drinking. But",she said looking up at him

"I hope I didn't cause you any trouble?", she asked, looking so innocent.

Ezekiel nearly screamed. She didn't cause any trouble. She was trouble herself!

"Get off", he said in that cold voice that was particular to him.

"Oh...", Monalissa said and stood hastily. She was ready to run from the room that moment. She didn't want to breathe the same air as him, at least not now. Due to her hasty actions, her legs got caught up in the sheets and she stumbled and fell forward, her face jamming with his own, giving their lips a chance to merge together.

Ezekiel felt his body harden the moment those lush cherry lips of hers crashed on his own. Those lips he has been wanting!

On her own part, Monalissa cringed with eyes widened. She didn't understand why this morning was against her. She was already cursing at her fate for letting him bring her up to his room, and now? Sharing lips?

Without further thought, she rolled herself from him and fell on the floor hitting her butt on the carpet. It hurt a little bit she was grateful to that hurt which helped her clear her head. This devil was making her go crazy. She swore within her not to drink on any mission again.

She stood from the floor and ran to the door. She even forgot her sandals.

"Where do you think you're going?", his deep voice halted her in her steps. She almost stumbled forward. Ezekiel was going to chuckle at her clumsiness but their relationship didn't give him the room.

"I need to leave for the factory".

"Don't you understand? I'm your master. You don't do things unless I tell you to".

"Yes", she said and turned around to face him.

"Wash up, and come back here. We need to talk on your meeting with Mr Banks yesterday".

"Yes", she said retuning to work mode all of a sudden. Ezekiel arched his brow.

"You don't want to leave barefooted", he said bringing her mind back to her sandals and the work mode walls she had built crashed in an instant.

Kayla got news about what was going on at the Alpha gardens. Her veins popped in anger as she thought of another woman in Ezekiel's arms. What pained her was that it was that woman. A woman that was in no way compared to her. A woman of such low rank. However, when she remembered her plan, she smirked and waited for her to return to the factory.

After she had washed up and changed to that factory dress she was starting to get comfortable in, she walked to her master's room. She was going to knock but the door opened for her. She smiled slightly and entered.

Monalissa didn't see any sign of him in the room. She wondered if he was trying to stress her for getting drunk the previous night. Just when she was thinking of various possibilities, that voice she was getting used to crept into her ears.

"Being noiseless?"

She looked up to see him standing across from her on the other side of the room. She noticed that there was a door which was loosely closed. He must have been in there, she said within.

"I just got here master".

He nodded and walked to the couch that was next to the bed. Monalissa couldn't help but watch his moves which were lazy and laid back but was filled with power and magnificence. He was like a devil prince who could torment people and also make people feel good. When she realized she had been thinking of him, she pinched herself to remind her, who he was. No matter how handsome he was, to her, he was a devil. The one sent to torment her existence.

After he had sat down, he looked at her. She was cladded in that simple and austere factory uniform with her head tied in a loose updo letting some strands fall beside her temples. Walker didn't look so bad, he heard his mind say to him. If only...

"What did you get from that hag yesterday?", Ezekiel asked as he slapped those thoughts to the back of his mind.

"Reporting on the mission from the previous night, Mr Banks says that he has spies in your turf and would bring you down"

"Tell me something that I don't know".

"Yes master. When asked how he was going to do that alone, he said that he wasn't alone. He had someone behind him".

"Did he mention anyone?"

"He mentioned, the soul-sucking org".

Ezekiel went silent for a while.

"How did he get close to them?"

Thinking that the question was directed to her, she answered, "Monalissa doesn't think he got close to them. She thinks they got close to him because probably, they share the same goal".

Ezekiel looked at her. "I didn't ask you..."

"But you needed someone else's thoughts on the matter".

"Not yours ".

"Sorry master. Monalissa has crossed her line".

Ezekiel clenched his fists as emotions surged within him.

"Get out", he spat out coldly.

"Yes", Monalissa said and left.
