Chapter 53 - Dragon Heart

Zeus's anger radiated throughout the room, and Poseidon gripped his trident with tired eyes. It was clear that we had caught them off guard, giving us an advantage. "That's enough!" Zeus boomed, lifting his arm and calling down a bolt of lightning. "I should have disposed of you when I had the opportunity, Hades."

I stood firm, the cold certainty of my purpose anchoring me despite his threat. "Maybe so," I retorted, a grim smile tugging at my lips. "But here we are."

"Enough!" roared Poseidon, thrusting his trident into the floor. The ground again trembled beneath our feet, but this time the very walls of Olympus responded, bending to Poseidon's will as he summoned a torrent of water that hurtled towards us.

Apollo reacted with lightning speed, raising his hand and pulling down a shaft of sunlight to form a radiant barrier that evaporated the water before it could reach us. Steam filled the room and temporarily obscured our view, but we remained unscathed.
