"Alora Alora" the excited voice of the princess could be heard among the hustles and bustles of the towns people, Princess Lizabeth ran across the market towards a small house located by the border of the stream where a small figure could be seen washing clothes in the water of the stream.
"Princess why are you here and why do you look so excited" Alora stood up from the shore of the stream and held the figure running into her, "Oh come on Alora am not a Kid" Beth enveloped her best friend in a hug while trying to catch her breath.
"You can't imagine what came to the palace last evening" Beth continued while holding onto Alora's hand like a kid who excited about eating cake for the first time "Princess I don't know what could have come to the palace but why are you here..... alone?" Alora asked with a confused expression on her face.
"Hmm our alone time will be interrupted soon if you don't allow me to say what I want you know, My father's guards are right behind me" Beth pouted "So you ran away from the castle"
Alora asked confusion still painting her fair face "How else will I be Able to give you this",
Beth brought out a gold colored envelope with a red seal from her gowns pocket. "And what might this be" Alora asked reaching out to take the envelope from Beth which she handed to her, "It is an invitation to the palace and it's for you!!" Beth shrieked as she grabbed onto Alora's hands which held the envelope.
Alora had a blank expression on as she asked "For me?" Beth reached out and tucked a strand of Alora's hair behind her ears and with a small smile that could brighten a room " Who else will it be for, Listen Alora my brother wants you to go with him as his plus one and what better opportunity than this for you guys to get familiar with each other."
Alora pulled her hands out of Beth's grip and stuffed the invitation card back into her hands "No Princess I can't accept this and your brother..... he is the crown prince and yes I am honored to be fancied by such a person, I just can't accept such advances and if am not mistaken the prince was the one who helped you leave the castle". Alora sighed then put her hand on her head with a tired expression on her face.
"Come on Alora my brother has liked you for a really long time now, amd you are not even budging, in the slightest, come on Alora dont be like this" Beth sulked
"Princess Elizabeth I don't like your brother" "You don't know him yet" Beth cut in with a whine , "come on just go to this ball with him imagine going to the anniversary of the Reeve Empire, the entire empire!!, Crown prince Asher might even make an appearance there ah!!, He looks like a God getting a glimpse of him once is enough for me in my entire life".
"The crown prince of the Reeve Empire... you mean the vampire prince that's an even more reason for me not to go, I am a nobody so it is not safe for me to go there" Alora turned and returned her attention to the clothes she was washing.
Beth bent down beside her while her lemon coloured gown swept the floor beneath her "And who said you are going there as a nobody, you are my brothers date for the night , The crown prince of Blue stone Ridge, though I admit we are not that influential among the other royal for us to receive an invitation it can be seen that we have gathered an amazing amount of influence to receive an invitation, we and our guests, that is you will be respected there even though we are dining with vampires I assure you your safety will be guaranteed" Beth said with her voice turning solemn towards the end.
"Come on Alora just think about it" Beth stuffed the invitation back into Alora's hands, Alora hesitated but still collected the envelope "You know I don't have enough money for a.." Beth Cut in saying "You don't have to worry about all that we can go take your measurements at a tailoring store now" Alora looked confused until Beth pulled out a small pouch full of coins from her gown pocket.
"We can buy shoes and other things too" Beth continued pouting "Fine, let me rinse these clothes and tell my mom we are leaving soon" Alora conceded with a smile on her face while squeezing the clothes and dropping them in a pail by her side.
Beth wrapped her hand around Alora's shoulder and pulled her into a gentle hug as they were both still squatting down "You are an angel Alora" Beth pulled away and stood up while Alora arranged the wrunged clothes into the pail and stood on her feet.
Alora began to move towards the small house by the river end with the pail of clothes in hand while Beth followed her. As they walked they chatted and laughed about little things.
"Mom!!!!" Alora called and a figure could be seen coming out of what seemed to be the kitchen of the house, "You done washing the clothes dear?, Oh!! princess what a pleasant surprise to what do I owe this visit."
Mrs Delphine bowed her head as a sign of respect towards the princess, "Mrs Delphine"
Beth started with a small bow of her own to acknowledge the older woman. "I came to invite Alora to the Grand palace at Reeve Empire to celebrate their Anniversary"
"Oh the Reeve Empire's Anniversary our small Bluestone ridge was given an Invitation" The older woman said with a small nod which could be see to be full of pride for her village "Dear have you made up your mind to go", Lilian Delphine asked her daughter.
