Rokara felt her strength waning, her limbs heavy with exhaustion. She struggled to remain upright, her lungs burning and her heart racing she did not know what happened, but she felt strangely weak.
The world around her spun, her vision blurring momentarily before snapping back into focus. Weakly, she looked up, only to be met with a terrifying sight.
Before her, stood another dozen of the blood-drinking monsters. She couldn't recall what had happened to the first six that had attacked them; all she could see now was blood and corpses littering the ground.
As she reached up to touch her own face, she realized it was wet, but not from the falling snow.
It was blood—lots of it—but thankfully, not her own.
