Annie snuggled Christine close, they both cried in each other's arms. The man had taken every dime on them and didn't consider their condition.
Everywhere was completely dark. The sounds from the bushes made it worse. Annie held Christine tight.
A car came in that direction, they both flinched. The light from the car's headlights shone into their eyes and almost blinded their vision.
Christine was shivering and she coiled in her mother's arms.
The car stopped beside them. A man came out and went to them.
"What are you doing here miss? This place is not safe for a lady and a child." He said concerned.
"We were robbed." She croaked.
The man shook his head in pity and stretched his hand and helped her up.
"Hey come with me, this place is too dangerous." He said.
Annie looked at Christine, she was going pale and her teeth clattered from the cold.
