Christine's little eyes were red from too much crying, she pushed her knees up to her face and hugged herself.
Unable to cry, she waited for Christian to come see her.
It was getting darker, she hadn't had dinner and she couldn't cook. There was no way she could go out to her next door neighbor and ask for food because she was too scared to come out.
She stopped sniffing to listen for Christian's arrival but there was complete silence outside. No one was out on the streets coupled with the fact that the rains had fallen earlier that evening.
Her stomach rumbled, "Mommy." She whispered.
She got out of the chair and walked to the kitchen, she was so hungry. She looked around and wondered what she'll eat.
The foodstuffs were all locked in counters that were way too high for her reach. She pouted, her eyes tearing up.
