"When will you be back Steven? Christine has been waiting for you." Annie rolled her eyes.
"I'll soon be back. Just tell her to wait just a little longer." He smiled.
Annie chuckled, "Don't be silly now, she's a child, how long do you think her eyes will stay open?"
"Aw c'mon Annie, you do something. I'll be back very soon, I promise."
She rolled her eyes again, "Alright." She hung up.
It has been two whole years since she left Texas. She and Christine had settled in New York City with Steven.
Starting all over wasn't that easy, there were times she cried because of the burden in her heart but she never showed anyone her pain.
She tried her best to take care of Christine, she wanted to be her mother and father. She made sure she had a very good life. Steven had her enrolled in one of the best schools in town.
