"Impressive, I guess even a regular S+ level person would likely meet their end at Chu Tian's hands," Snow Ji commented, swaying her nine snow-white tails as she looked at Wu Xiuer.
Wu Xiuer nodded in agreement, "If one is careless, even I might suffer a great loss against him."
Then, Wu Xiuer stood up and, holding her long smoking pipe, took a puff and asked, "Aren't you planning to show Chu Tian the information you received?"
"You mean the global warrant issued privately by some shameless person in the Federation?" Snow Ji said as she pulled out her communicator and opened a message. It was a warrant for Chu Tian's capture, issued by Xü Qiǎo Sheng. It seemed the news of Chu Tian's ability to change his appearance had been leaked.
Chu Tian hadn't discovered the warrant yet. He picked up the black robe of the nine-headed serpent and found it to be incredibly tough, resistant even to his Emperor's Overlord Spear and the Thunder Swords.
After examining the robe and determining its high quality, Chu Tian stored it in his spatial ring, planning to have it assessed by a professional later.
He then checked the three space bags of the serpent. The first contained thousands of third and fourth-level spiritual energy crystals, as well as a universal communicator from the Federation. On the communicator, Chu Tian found his own bounty issued by Xü Qiǎo Sheng. The bounty promised a large reward of fourth-level spiritual energy crystals for anyone, human or beast, who could kill Chu Tian and bring back any part of his body.
Chu Tian, disgusted, discovered that the second bag was filled with rotting human corpses, which he promptly buried.
The third bag contained various materials and cores, as well as a palm-sized jade talisman. Exploring the talisman with his spiritual perception, Chu Tian was amazed to find an entire world inside, with a space as large as two football fields and a large tomb with an impressive epitaph.
Recalling the unique handwriting, Chu Tian realized it was from the author of the "Jiutian Shidi Weiwoduzun Gong" (Nine Heavens and Ten Earths, Only I Am Supreme Art). He was eager to explore the space within the talisman but decided to first deal with the nine-headed serpent's corpse.
After disposing of the serpent and its belongings, Chu Tian returned to the inn. He saw Snow Ji still meticulously grooming her tails and learned from Meng Meng, the unicorn, that the guest Black Water had died and his room needed to be renovated.
Curious about how Snow Ji knew of Black Water's death and considering his own strength limitations in detecting A-level and above talents, Chu Tian decided not to dwell on it. He was more intrigued by the range of talents the alluring innkeeper might possess, knowing that some demonic beasts naturally have multiple talents.
After allowing Meng Meng to dispose of Black Water's belongings, Chu Tian retired to his room to study the jade talisman. He was fascinated by the powerful and enigmatic woman who created the "Jiutian Shidi Weiwoduzun Gong" and eventually found her final resting place in a cold tomb.
Despite his efforts, Chu Tian couldn't penetrate the tomb within the talisman space and couldn't physically enter it himself. After an hour of trying, he gave up and began to absorb a first-level spiritual energy crystal to replenish his energy and cultivate.
Later that night, after emerging from cultivation, Chu Tian's system updated, enhancing his ability to probe the talents of S-level individuals. Though it was a minor upgrade, it was significant for him, as his probing capability was previously limited to B+ level.
With this upgrade, Chu Tian planned to examine the talents of the inn's staff and the black shop owner the next day.
