Chu Tian woke up late, around 10 a.m., and after freshening up, he stepped out of his room to hear the sound of machinery and wall-banging from the end of the corridor. It seemed that Black Water's room, the nine-headed serpent he had killed, was being renovated.
Disregarding the noise, Chu Tian headed downstairs where he saw Meng Meng leading a new guest upstairs. His system then revealed the guest's talent, which he decided to copy. The talent was 'Beast Speaker,' enabling him to communicate effortlessly with humanoid beasts.
Upon reaching the lobby, Chu Tian also discovered the innkeeper Snow Ji's talent, which was only the common Thunder Talent of a snow fox. Seeing Chu Tian's disappointed look, Snow Ji self-consciously checked herself, to which Chu Tian awkwardly smiled and quickly left the inn.
Outside, he encountered Black Rat, who eagerly asked if Chu Tian needed guidance to the auction. After confirming that Black Rat hadn't eaten yet, Chu Tian decided to treat him to a meal.
Black Rat led Chu Tian to a restaurant run by a human talent warrior in the ghost market's business district, surprisingly not recommending a beast-run eatery. They ended up at Golden Jade Pavilion, a place known to Chu Tian as Cleisa's venture.
Inside, the restaurant's style was less luxurious than its counterpart in the Third Human Base, with a wild touch. Chu Tian noticed many humanoid beasts and humans dining together, including a bear couple with their children. He was unable to see the bear couple's talents, indicating they were beyond S level.
After a satisfying meal with Black Rat, Chu Tian decided to visit the black shop before the auction. Arriving at the black shop, he saw the owner Wu Xiuer inspecting new goods with her staff.
Wu Xiuer greeted Chu Tian, teasing him about his good spirit after defeating an S-level nine-headed serpent. Chu Tian was puzzled, realizing that his killing of Black Water seemed to be an open secret. Wu Xiuer reassured him that only she and Snow Ji knew about it.
Intrigued by how Wu Xiuer knew of his deed and unable to see her level or talents, Chu Tian inquired about it. She playfully declined to reveal her strength, saying he wasn't yet at the level to know. She then invited Chu Tian upstairs for a cup of tea, noting that time moves slower on her third floor. Chu Tian, tempted by the offer and the slow passage of time there, followed Wu Xiuer upstairs.
