Chapter 18 - Why Mrs. Bay loves Emily.

Selene wanted to give the children some time to breathe. She forced them into marriage but she will not also force them to talk to each other talk more of consummating their marriage.

"How did it go yesterday?"

"Tyler locked her out of the room, Luna." her assistant informed her.

"Good, that is progress. I thought they would kill each other or something." Selene chuckled

People might ask, what is her thing with Emily?

Selene has always liked Emily from the day she saw her when both of them were in high school. She couldn't explain it but she really liked her. She loved the way Emily looked, her smile, and her attitude. It was like love at first sight but in a mother-daughter way.

But the problem was Tyler did like her. he always talked about how he thought she was a spoiled brat that lived on her father's money and how she ways behaved like a bitch. But deep down, Selene knew that there was more to Emily than meets the eye. She had that mystery that every Luna should have. She prayed day and night that Tyler would get a wife like Emily.

When the scandal happened and she saw Emily's face in the video, it was like the moon goddess had answered her prayers. She checked so many times to be sure that it was Emily and it was. Then, she was certain that Tyler and Emily were made for each other. She knew this was the best opportunity to get Emily and she wouldn't get it again.

One thing she realized was that Tyler and Emily are so blinded by their competitiveness that they can't see how similar they are and when they stay with each other for a while maybe they will like each other. Selene is keeping her fingers crossed on that one; that is why she isn't pressuring them to perform a mating ritual. They have to decide that on their own.

Being a Luna is fucking hard but it can be easy if you have a man that loves you. Emily will not just be Red Dawn's Luna, she will also be the alpha of the Cresent pack. She has a lot going on in her life and she will not add a bad marriage to it. Unlike my time, divorce is very popular now. They can get a divorce if it doesn't work out but she didn't want them to give up without trying.

"Where is she now?" Selene asked her assistant.

"She slept in one of the gets rooms, ma'am."

Selene inhaled deeply. Sometimes she feels that Tyler will be the death of her. What would have made him throw Emily out of the room on their wedding night? He didn't even consider where she might sleep or her safety. She wanted to call him and scold him but there was no point. He might do worse if she pisses him off. He can be scary at times.

"Well, let's go see how my daughter-in-law is doing." Selene went up and went to the guest room where Emily slept.

Emily was still sleeping and she made sure no one would disturb her. One thing Emily treasured more than life was her sleep and she wasn't an early riser. Because of Tyler and his antics, she had to sleep late after she constantly banged on the door for two hours. He should thank the goddess that the door was metallic if not she would have broken that door and ripped out his throat.

Someone kept on knocking on her door and right now, it was making her angry. She already suffered last night, why did she also have to suffer in the morning?

"Go away." She said in a sleepy voice, throwing a pillow across the room. But the annoying knocks continued. Emily groaned and got up on her feet. She did hope it wasn't a servant because she told them not to disturb her. All she wanted to do was to open the door and yell at the person standing there.

"I said no one should…" Emily stopped in her tracks when she opened the door and saw her new mother-in-law.

"Mrs. Bay I…"

"Mother," Selene corrected, "And I am so glad to see you are okay." She said to Emily with a little smile. "May I come in?"

"Of course, of course." Emily opened the door and let Selene in. They both sit on the bed.

"I heard what happened yesterday." Selene started.

"Ah."

"I would like to apologize for the way my son treated you. It wasn't right"

"There is no need for that Mrs. Bay…"

"Mother." Selene corrected her again.

Emily chuckled. "Mother, it was Tyler's fault and you do need to apologize on his behalf. Parents are not meant to pay for the crime of their children."

For some reason, that made Selene smile. To her, Emily was like the daughter she never had. She knew she made the right choice when she chose her.

"We have a Bay family tradition. The new daughter cooks for the family after the wedding. but you don't have to worry; we can do it tomorrow. Just rest today."

Emily was understanding. After all, different packs have their different rules and traditions. But the thing was, Emily had never cooked in her life and she didn't think to learn. She was so busy taking care of and building businesses that she didn't learn. Her father did tell her once or twice but she ignored it. But cooking couldn't be that hard. There are a lot of videos on how to cook.

"Okay, Mother. thank you."

"You are welcome, dear."
