The air crackled with tension as Gerald seethed with fury, his blood boiling over his daughter's perceived incompetence. The task he had entrusted to her had seemed straightforward, an easy victory for anyone willing to put in the effort. Yet, instead of rising to the challenge, Rosie had faltered, her defeated confession hanging in the air like a stubborn shadow.
He could hardly wrap his mind around it; after all, Emily had handled far more complex responsibilities without fail.
"Such incompetence" He spat on her while she tried to regain her balance. "Tell me which man wouldn't fall if you showed him a little of your skin? Hmm? if you had shown him what you had in possession, there's no way he would refuse!" He snarled at her.
"And his wife also has enough to make him not want any other one," Rose countered.
