Chapter 13 - CHAPTER 12 LIMIT

Using this knowledge to his advantage, he decided to fight in a safe manner, behind his army of monster pets. Besides,  all of them are immortal, so he does not need to worry about them dying.

[I must inform you, host, that monster pets are not immortal; once they are killed, their soul cores that build their form, making them functional soul blessings, will be destroyed, and they will no longer exist as soul blessings.]

[Cleo's Clone is a unique existence, created by the remnant of the vessel's soul, making it closely tied to the host; it is still shaping its form, but it is already formidable.]

Leon's eye twitches; it seems that dream is crushed almost instantly. He sighs and says, "If this is the case, then I should pick a monster pet that will be useful to me."

It is either a mount, a flying pet, or a support pet; in fact, he can even pick all three, but first, he must at least learn how to defend himself. With Cleo's clone, he only needs to fight from a distance; being an archer is a great option.

"So, one of my soul slots should be reserved for a bow; I should go to the library once I am back home, or better yet, I will let Eclipshea read it for me."

After finishing his meal, he obtained seven normal genes. He decided to hunt another one in order to complete all ten of his genes before going to Cleo's Clone.

He is much better than earlier; as he sneaks closer to one of the unsuspecting chickens, he quickly kills it by twisting its neck with his entire strength.

Just like before, he escapes before the chicken realises that their opponent is actually not that stronger than them.

"I am confused; according to our agent, the young master has already obtained full normal genes from the Three Tailed Chicken; why is he hunting them once again? Not to mention, without using his Advanced Grade Fishsword?" asks one of the guardians.

"Do not ask me; I do not know how rich people work; I am just doing my job," answers the guardian close to her.

Leon finally obtains all the genetic enhancement he can get from the Three-Tailed Chicken, so he decides to go to his pet. Eating a worm might be quite unnerving for his taste, but to grow stronger, he has to do it, no matter how disgusted he is.

The guardians follow him, not knowing where he is going; their movements are silent and careful; Leon does not even know that he is being followed.

He is travelling with extreme caution, but even with this, he cannot sense the guardians all around him; if they want to, they can easily take him down without breaking any sweat.

This is the main reason for their existence: to protect members of the Oriend Family from the attacks of their rival family.

Arriving at the entrance of the Gluttonous Worm cave, he immediately meets up with his pet. He gives him a worm that is actually bigger than he expected; he thought that it was only the size of a finger at most, but the worm given to him is as big as his hand.

His eye starts twitching again, taking a deep breath. He starts eating while vomiting inwardly. His expression is extremely bitter and ugly, but he does not stop. Worms do not have any bones, so just one of them will give him ten normal genes.

"F*cl! That is one of the most disgusting experiences of my entire life." He shivers after finishing his "meal."

He even had his eyes closed the entire time, throughout the entire meal. Fortunately, his disgust quickly disappears after obtaining the strength that comes from the genetic enhancement.

[Consume Gluttonous Worm; gain 10 normal genes overall.]

"Hmm, please show my status."

[Name: Cleo Oriend (Leon Cio)]

Age: 17 (28)

Talent: Overwork

Hidden: The Invulnerable Soul

Item: Gemstone of Life

Genetic Evolution: 30 Normal-Grade Genes

[Soul Slots: 10]

Seeing his status, he cannot believe that just thirty normal genes make him a superhuman back in his old world; clenching his fist, he is the power coursing through it.

"According to Eclipshea, everyone's limit is different, but based on the studies that the scientist from the True World has made, the upper limit is one hundred in each gene, well, for humans, that is."

This is the information that he clearly recalls, as he wants to know all about the Realm of the Thousand Worlds and the secrets of the genes.

"So with this knowledge, what is my limit?"

[Your body is at the epitome of health; after fixing it, it is now capable of hosting one hundred genes at each level. With the benefits of the feedback, your strength can easily reach that of the dragon race.]

'Thank you! You are truly amazing; with this, my strength will be considered overpowered by those at the same level; unfortunately, even with this, my safety is still not secured.'

"I think that I should return home. System, can Cleo's clone work inside the realm while I return to the true world?"

[Negative: Cleo's Clone might be a unique existence, but it is still considered a soul blessing; it can only exist through the host; travelling through the portal will immediately make it disappear, returning to your soul slot.]

"That is a shame; I guess I should learn more about this realm before returning, especially the genetic creatures that are capable of dropping a pet egg." He sighs before leaving.

The guardians quickly follow after him, unaware that the cloaked individual that their young master was "talking" to disappears, leaving only a cloak full of blood.

Back in the True World, Leon immediately went back to his new home and had Eclipshea read him basic information about the genetic creatures that are recorded publicly and those that their clans privately know.

There are actually a lot, but most of them are advanced grade, and they also travel in packs, making it extremely difficult for him to hunt them even with Cleo's clone.
