Honestly, Elish thought he would really bury that teacher when he came to school the next day. Well, De El thought and his anger spilled over in to Elish's share of their mind. But the next day, and an entire week after that, He went to class without giving the man any piece of his mind. He did however give back the book. Elish lied saying the book fell while he was sleeping and reading. That his bed was a bunk and his own space was on the top. Their teacher did not seem to be at all upset by the rumpled state of the book. Instead he confessed to have never taken interested in that book before. That he only brought it because he realized they would be Studying Von Val Don Venice's life. The book did not the answers he was looking for but what could he do. Disappointed and unwilling to get it back to the library because of reasons he could not explain, he decided to keep it around. And then subsequently, it was handed over to him, Elish and so on and so forth.
Elish thank him again for giving him the book and left it on his desk as told. That day, they were to have a combine class with the international relations students so he hurried out to meet up with the lesson.
Today however was a Friday. La Emirate College organizes sports activities every Friday. Each class provides a football team and a second team which fits in to any other sport. This Friday, History class picked out a football team and a boxing champion. Well, there were three members of the class in the boxing group; Mostafa, Marlin and Elish. As expected. Mostafa would be boxing the under 18s, Marlin would be fighting the girls and Elish would take the 20s and above. Which meant he would also be going again the teachers who would be contesting of the Orlando Crown and a scholarship/Paycheck increase which would come along with the actual crown made of gold.
Yeah, so as you might have guessed people took this quite seriously. The contests would not be starting that Friday though. That Friday was the last training day before the fights begin on next week's Sports day.
So that morning, the front yard grass was covered in different colored boots, shoes and bare foot. Girls were in clothes going from mini skirt high to leotard tight and boys hit from baggy tracksuits to tan top, some were on tights though. The school had rules like – No Short body revealing clothing unless you were a cheer leader and no tights on boys or girls unless you were practicing gymnastics or any sport that required you to do so. But no club really had a comprehensive name of the total members in it's group so basically the anyone who wore anything odd would be assumed to be part of those clubs so basically the rule was babash.
Which did Elish a lot of good because boxers came in loose attire or small shorts and then topless, baring their skin but he had to cover the marks on his body particularly the claw wound on his shoulder that refused to heal. He wore a turtle neck on top big shorts and his abs found their way out even though he had a tan top thrown underneath the shirt. He and Leo had come with the bus that day.
Mrs. Parker suddenly had a back sore and Mr. Parker had to go help her massage with it in their bedroom so he could not drive them to school. Elish was cool with that but Leo made disgusted remarks all the way to school.
The bus parked in front of the giant school gate with the words 'La Emirate' written in big block letters. The letters were carved in curls and made of polish steel. Kinda of reminded you of the gates of Cruella Castle. The two boys got down from the bus. The only ones who were on the bus as usual. The automobile drove off after their alighting. Elish lifted his big but empty bag into one hand then let it lean on his back. Leo gave him a long stare while he did so.
"What are you looking at." Elish rebuked him. "Did you really have to wear that?"
"Wear what?"
"Dude you a freaking sculpture of chiseled+ everything. How can you put on something so… I don't know… sexy."
Elish did not even flinch, like he was very dumb.
"I know you can hear me."
"I Never said I can't. I am just wondering what you are talking about."
"Don't play dumb with me. I have abs too but am keeping them hidden behind this big shirt because I don't want any girl getting the wrong and swooning over me. My heart belongs to one woman so I don't want to go break other girl's hearts, and you. You do not intend to have anything to do with those girls either so do not go around giving them the wrong impression, drawing unnecessary attention to yourself or getting on the nerves of people's boyfriend. Like hell dude, even the teachers will want you; all dressed up like that. You look like you are fresh out a porn shoot." They were walking now but slowly. Elish hand not said anything while Leo talked but now he was finished and obviously awaiting a reply. He got what he wanted.
"I don't care. I won't wear what they want because they don't know how to tell their hearts what to do. Lately I've been practicing how to break hearts, today might just be a chance to show off my skills."
"Oh and frankly." Elish continued. "We both know you won't be breaking anything even if you were caught stark naked. So I suggest you take it easy with the self-deception."
He gave Leo a pat on the shoulder like he was concerned about his mental health. Leo shaved him off angrily. The two boys started laughing. The cheer took a while before it died out. Then Elish resumed the converse. They were half way there now.
"How is it going with Anamay. Have you figured anything out yet?"
"No. I can't get even a single word out of her about the way she behaved that day. Not even subtly. She keeps acting like she knows all the questions I will ask. And she has been avoiding me a lot too."
"Yikes. So let me guess… the tell her 'How I Feel' mission is still pending."
Leo signed. "It cannot be helped. I really honestly want to go for it but she is so distant now than she was then. And back then, she had eyes only for Demetri and not me. Like I've got no green flags telling me to go for it and when you confess to your best friend and she turns you down, it's gonna get pretty weird between the two of you and your friendship is going to sour. I cannot risk all that over something that might just be a one sided love situation. I got to be sure. I don't know if you get me. You've never had such feelings for someone before, right?"
"Yeah I have not but I know if I did I would never stop until I had them, even if some else was laying claim to it."
"Sounds like the way of the wild." Leo gave it a fancy term as if he was not against it.
"Well, then, Let them take your girl because you want to stick to the way of the soft." Elish gave him a mocking smile. Leo frowned. He was at it again. That two face thing. One moment he would be all kind and thoughtful, the next he would go full blown savage and mock him for even breathing twice per second.
"I have no intention of letting anyone take her. I just don't know how to tell her how I feel that all."
Elish gave him a warm smile. "Just keep giving her the green lights. She is not dumb. She will see it eventually. Then you can cross check her attitude around you and around others and see if it's working. You are not that bad, am sure she will like you."
Leo smiled. They were reaching the sports grounds now. Leo was a footballer. So he wore his team's jersey over white boots.
"Ah, Elish. You don't mind hitting the library with me later today. I need to read up a few things and I want company."
*Sounds Boring. Pass it *
"I will be there."
*Damn you*. De El said it seductively.
Elish shrugged in disgust. 'Don't do shit like that again' he scolded the wolf. They were walking away from Leo now and heading towards the giant sign post that showed 'Boxers This Way'. There was a Wrestling ring already set just a few walks away from the sign post and two boys mending out injury on themselves trying to win.
He walked past the sign post and went over to the contestant's seat taking the one in the front. He dropped his bag beside him and rolled his misty eyes up to the fighters.
Although he was paying attention to the moves and the blood and then plenty of sweat in the opponents but that did not mean he did notice the gentle fast footsteps making their way towards him. He chose to ignore but the owner of the sounding feet stopped in front of him. She stretched out her hand. He would have continued to pretend he did not see her but the figure had blocked his view.
"Move," Elish said coldly.
"At least accept the greeting. We are in the same team after all."
'De El…'
*It's about time. It was really getting freaking boring in here.*
Elish looked up, his eyes glared at her. She squinted immediately, looking away.
"You do not have to be do violent," She moved her busy body aside.
"I just wanted to say 'Hello' that all. It's no big deal right, Elish?"
And she was completely subbed as if she spoke to ghosts.
"Come on a hand shake will kill no one."
She tried to touch his arm, a hand swooped out of nowhere and tore hers away for Elish. The move was so fast and so powerful the girl was sent crashing in to the rocky green floors of the college grounds.
Whether it was her neck or her arm but definitely something broke on that fall, the girl shrieked so loud, Elish had to turn although not as an act of care or alarm but just plain desire to not be the only one looking away.
"What the f…" the wounded girl looked back.
Her eyes caught the attention of two others girls standing near Elish. One in a black sport bra and peach Mini shorts. Mostafa appeared from behind the wounded girl, rushing to her immediately. He checked for bruises. It was the wrist she had tried to use and break her fall that had broken. The fracture was really bad, her hand effortless bending forward. Mostafa shot a glare at the girls.
"Are you mad, Melissa. How could you do something like this. She not even your strength match in the fights. This is freaking clear sabotage. You are freaking sick. Are not even afraid of consequences like what the freaking shit did she do to you?!!"
Melissa wiggled her thumb around her ear. "Ah, he is so loud. My beautiful ears are bleeding. Someone shut him up for me."
The other girls went around and picked up baseball bats. The head girl was still looking at the two of them. "Oh and Mustafa, I don't care about the consequences."
The girl turned away, her face trying to trace Elish. She was moving unconsciously, her face struck flesh and black linen. She backed up Immediately, her vision blur. His abs were the first thing she saw. His shorts had fallen low a little. There was a dangerous craving to see what they were covering. She threw her head up, to find his eyes. Something else met her gaze, His hand. Elish grabbed the girl by the face and squeezed. Lifting her off the floor. She tried to scream from the pain but her mouth has been forced open by this tightening grasp. She grabbed his wrist, pulling on it, struggling. He did not even act like he knew something living was at the end of his left hand. Elish went towards the ring. The whole commotion had drawn the attention of even the team preparing to fight. Elish strode towards the boxing arena. Everyone near it, fled. The place completely cleared out for the boy with a girl in his grip, to climb into the arena and turn around to meet the gaped eyes of her friends, Mustapha and the girl with the broken wrist.
He lifted Melissa up in the air letting her feet dangling off the ring.
He whispered. *You weigh a thousand pounds; Now, break a few nice things when you hit the ground*
He let go. The girl fell fast and hard onto the ground. She gasped, blood burst out of her mouth. She lost consciousness immediately. Elish was looking down at his master piece, well, De El was. He sighed, he thought it could be bloodier. Being in this human state sucks.
He looked up, the students hurled back immediately. His eyes rolled to Mellisa's friends. They tried to run… De El smiled.
'Are they attempting to flee?'
*Those baseball bats* The girls froze.
"Before you leave. Bless each other's faces with it."
They were some distances away but he could hear them gulp. They turned. They were horrified but did De El care… Nope.
"Do you need help?" he stirred.
"No, no, no, no." The girls lift the bats up and looked at each other. Everyone around watching.
"Ting, am sorry." The girl on the left swung her bat.
"Wai…" but before Ting could finish, the bat hit her, she twirled, lost balance but somehow she stayed on her feet. The instant the spinning stopped, she shot her blood thirsty eyes at the one that hit her. Her face bleeding.
"Ting." The frightened girl let the bat fall on the ground.
"Shit am sorry; I didn't mean to swing it so hard."
Ting began to approach. Coming fast. The girl on the left ran screaming. "Am sorry, am sorry. Am sorry."
The crowd cleared out of their way immediately, no one had any intention of being collateral damage.
"Am sorry, Please, am sorry." The chasing girl flung the baton in the air with anger and upset. It flew fast and hit the running girl at the back of her head. The girl tripped over and kissed the ground with her face. A trial of blood actually followed her all the way to the tree stomp that stopped her screeching.
"Oh!"
"Shit."
"Holy crap."
"You are freaking mad girl."
Everyone faced Ting. The instigator was briefly forgotten until teachers came galloping down the stairs and through the field, making for the cluster of students.
"What's going on over there?"
"Move aside"
"Break the up"
The crowd began to disburse seeing the disciplinarians approaching and not wanting to be the first face they remark. The storming teachers finally made it into the circle, mostly because fleeing students blocked their way. Now that they were uninterrupted, they were able to identify that two girls were there.
Ting standing with a battered face and then another girl, lying down on the floor. Other than that, nothing else. Something about this discovery was odd. They tried to look around to see if they could comprehend more from the environment but the students too curious to know what had happened, were blocking their view. Behind all of them was Elish carrying a girl in short black trunks and white sports bra. Her wrist broken. But she lay like a damsel in his arms.
He knew it was because he was carrying her was her reason for snuggling. He wanted to drop her but De El also wanted to hang around some more, which meant he had to do as Elish said and right now, Elish was feeling guilty for what happened to her. His pace was fast. Elish wanted her taken to the infirmary. He would do just that and leave before she catches feelings.
The school clinic was, thankfully, one of the offices on the extremes. Also on the ground floor too. He took a simple corner, another short stride and then he was in front of the Infirmary. Typical De El, He did not knock, he simply walked in immediately. The nurses all looked towards the curtains. In was unveiling, a young man emerging from behind. The moment his entire figure was standing in the room, with the girl in his arms, there was only one word to Describe this…
"Wow."
*She broke her wrist*. De El said not trying at all to tune down him dangerously hot base voice.
"Really?" the nurse closest to him, asked with her eyes ravishing those packs and paying no attention to him. De El had no intention of replying that question. He went towards an empty bed with white sheets over it and lay her on them. In a split second, he gave the room a glance.
It was the windows opposite him that really drew his attention, the wind rushing in to flutter the translucent curtains. The flee as if trying to reach him. He was standing by the hospital bed, three other beds in front of him, each demarcated by the blue clinic curtains that had wheels at the bottom of their stands.
He looked at the nurse who was sitting by a table that was on the same aisle as the windows, paper and a statoscope on her table. "I have no other obligations, right?" It came out as unenthusiastic as his feelings towards his act of benevolence. "No, no more." He lady replied. He turned instantly, the air conditioner in the room met his eyes. There was a wash hand sink beneath it. He walked to it.
… No soap…
He looked left. A small shelf was leaning on the wall there. There was bottles, cotton wool, gauze and soap. He went for it, picked up the pink bar and returned to the sink. He turned the metal tap on. Carefully, he gave his hands a 'Skunk Stain Removal' kind of washing, a hard rinse and then switched off the tap with the paper towel he had torn out. He threw that in the bin next to the sink. The door was his next destination. One of the nurses, who too was watching, decided to try her luck. Perhaps it's not what they think it is.
"Em, when will you come Bach to pick up your girlfr…" he was out the door before she made that hideous utterance.
The nurse looked at the doctor seated beside the table. "Damn. I wouldn't want to be this girl right now." The doctor nodded an agreement.
Anamay was watching. From when the girl in black approached him to when he littered the floor with the so called 'School Queens'. Well they did not mess with her but they messed with others and she was freaking laughing at their end. It suited them too well. They would need to steal a face if they were going to repair theirs. She looked behind her. She was there like always. HER BLEEDING ANGEL.
'It's was a good end right?' Anamay said it in her mind. The angel was still. Anamay smiled. It means she agrees. Now… she stretched her hand out and over her head. She would go find Elish. He needs congratulating for what he did. There was a twist in her gut… Leo. She did not want to run in to him. Whatever he was, he was scaring away HER ANGEL.
