Chapter 23 - Enchantment (2)

IN AN UNKNOWN MOUNTAIN

*Huff**Huff*

On an unknown mountain, the rhythmic sounds of heavy breathing echoed through the terrain. Aiden, with sweat streaming down his face, navigated through the rough landscape with a large silver boulder strapped to his back. Each step seemed to be a struggle, and his breaths came in heavy huffs.

Despite the hard challenge, Aiden continued, using ]Enchantment[ on his legs to enhance his endurance and agility. The magical energy pulsed through his limbs, granting him a quick surge of strength.

However, the dangerous path was unforgiving. Aiden's foot clashed with an unseen rock, causing him to slip. He lost his balance, and the weight of the silver boulder came crashing down upon him, crushing his form against the hard ground.

"TSK- You failed again? Can't you-"

Aria's upcoming critique from the boulder was rudely interrupted by an unexpected, rude voice that came out of nowhere.

"Shut the f&ck up, poor b!tch!!!" Said the masculine voice out of nowhere.

"HE SPOKE?"

"HE SPOKE?"

The surprising voice echoed through the air, leaving both Aiden and Aria stunned. After a few short encounters in the hospital and the cafe with Isabela, Aiden figured out that the owner of the voice was his alter ego, the homeless old man living in Aiden's domain. This was one of the rare times when the old homeless man spoke, and that's why Aiden and Aria were surprised.

It seemed like he really disliked Aria for some unknown reason.

After some time, the mountain's echoes faded away, and there was only silence.

"*cough**cough* Now, Aiden, pick me up and let's go," Aria said from the silver boulder, understanding that the mysterious voice had stopped responding.

Then Aiden started going up the mountain with the Lich Llayer on his back. This mountain is a place owned by the Santa family.

Aria had told Aiden that for their training, they would need a quiet and rich in oxygen place to train.

In response, Aiden bought the whole mountain as he asked it for a gift from his father. After 10 hours of constant running to the top of the mountain, Aiden finally reached his destination.

It was like a Shaolin temple, or should I say it is a Shaolin temple, but because the country thought that the Shaolin temple burned more money rather than making, they decided to stop funding the place and this way, they didn't give the monks any other option than selling the place to the Santa family.

Now, it was different. The architecture was different, modern and luxurious, and there was training equipment usually found in gyms, like gigantic treadmills and bench presses with weights everywhere, instead of the usual old-style training equipment.

After Aiden had bought the place, he decided to renovate it and make it the perfect place for his training.

Aria could only stare dumbfounded. She imagined a quiet and peaceful meadow in some random forest. Instead, Aiden had destroyed thousands of years of ancient architecture to create a "Cool looking gym".

Just as they had reached the top of the mountain, they saw a monk praying at the gigantic, modern-like entrance.

"Huh? Who is this?" Said Aiden as he was looking at the bald man in a yellow robe.

"Please, god, forgive them for their sins." Said the man as he bowed down with his hands together.

"Hey, whats going on-" Asked Aiden but was cut off by a mysterious masculine voice.

"We have no change for you, begar. Go away." Said the masculine voice, but it seemed like the bald didn't hear him.

'Huh? What is his problem with poor people?' Asked Aria in her mind.

"This is an insult to god. This once secret place is now a discussing capitalistic taboo." Said the monk with an angry face.

"Whats wrong? You can no longer pray for alcoho-" The masculine voice was trying to insult the monk but was cut off by Aiden.

"I am sorry sir, and I understand why you are angry. I think I can help you." Said Aiden with a soft and understanding tone.

The monk looked at Aiden with surprised eyes. In Aiden, he saw a warmhearted child who was actively trying to help him. He started questioning himself, "Could I be wrong?" "Is the new generation really now that bad?".

"If you can give me my 563 million back then I will give It back." Said Aiden with a smile, as he was even ready to reduce the price of his gift from his father.

'He is even worse than the homeless man.' Said Aria with a disappointed expression, but still, she was somewhat happy that this time, she wasn't on the receiving end.

This was going to be a good time for a backstory, but the author was getting sick of writing backstories.

"How dare you brat-" The monk continued yapping until Aiden signalled the guards to come and get the now homeless man out of there.

IN A WATERFALL

Aiden and Aria were now in a large meadow with a gigantic mystical tree in the middle.

"You are still just a rookie. Your body is weak, and you still didnt awaken your element." Said Aria as she pointed to Aiden, who still looked like a skinny child.

"It requires an enormous amount of muscle and flexibility to even learn the first stance of ]Two Heavens As One[. My teacher, the hero, was born in a family of commoners, the only teacher he had was his cheap sword, and the only training equipment he had was the floor." Said Aria as she jumped and picked up a branch from the tree.

"But there was something my teacher had that no one else did: his intellect and, most importantly, his hard work." Aria crouched as she hardened the grip of the branch. She closed her eyes and got into a low-start position as her hands still took hold of the branch.

At that moment, the world stopped. Aria's expression got angry as a terrifying red energy erupted from her body.

"Day and night, my master was training until his legs could no longer hold his body, and one day the universe gave him something. . . A miracle"

Aiden widened his eyes at the incredible energy Aria was erupting, which became even stronger.

At that moment, Aria put her Cynical energy on the branch, her hands, and legs, but it was extremely different from usual.

']Enchantment[? No. . . this is not it.' Said Aiden in his mind as he was trying to figure out what Aria was doing.

The Cynical energy that was going wild calmed down as it became tighter and tighter as it was absorbed by her body and the branch.

'She is comprising it?' Said Aiden in his mind

The branch became harder and heavier than ever. It also had a bright, blinding white light that looked like it was going to explode at any given second. As to her legs and hands, a heated white smoke was coming from them.

'She in not strengthening her legs or hands, she is strengthening the sole muscles on her legs and hands!' Said Aiden in his mind with widened eyes.

The difference between Aiden's ]Enchantment[ and Aria's was that Aiden's was going wild as a large amount of it was wasted, as it covered the space around the blade and his body. But as Aria used ]Enchantment[ it only covered the object or the specific muscles of her body to bring the strengthening effect of ]Enchantment[ to its peak.

As if her hand moved faster than time, she slashed at the gigantic tree, her branch still trembling, and finally made contact with the gigantic tree as big as a skyscraper.

*BOOM*

As if Aria's hand moved faster than time itself, she slashed the colossal tree with her still-trembling branch. The impact obliterated the tree and the ground beneath, forming a massive crater. The air pressure distorted the waterfall and grass, forcing Aiden to shield himself with Cynical energy to withstand the immense force.

"*sigh* I failed again." Said Aria as she looked at her branch, which was completely fine.

"She failed? Was this not the real thing?" Said Aiden with eyes wider than ever.

Just then, in a bush far away, a strong voice echoed through the meadow.

"TWINKLETWIG!" Said a bald man from the bush as he rushed from the bush towards the destroyed tee behind him. Another 32 men with the same bald head followed him towards the tree.

"Mr TWINKLETWIG. . .You monster!" Said the bald man to Aria as he hugged a piece of the tree.

These monks were members of the Shaolin temple who had chosen to hide themselves, finding comfort in the tree they had nurtured since birth. Rather than facing a life of misery beyond its shelter, they wanted to stay with the tree until they died of dehydration and hunger.

This tree was the last reason for living to the monks, and now it was destroyed by this white-haired girl.

"You poor bushcamper, trees are created to be cut and capitalized by smart people!" Said the masculine voice out of nowhere.

But Aiden was too focused on his dream of the thing he could never acquire with any kind of money.

"Power. . ."
