Mi Juanxi entered the small house only to see her mother lying weakly in her father's arms and sobbing.
"You still have the guts to come home?", Mi Juan approached his sister and dragged her forward.
"Where did you go?", Mi Fengdu, her father asked. He looked calm but anger was evident in his voice.
"I...I went to the forest, oh and dad I took your bow and arrow with me in case I encountered any wild animal. I went to get the herbs mom needed to cure her disease", Mi Juanxi brought out the herbs and showed it to them.
Mi Juan found it hard to believe his sister's words, even he had never thought of going to the forest since it was known to have many wild animals moreover it was known to be the territory of the tenth prince. Yet his sister claimed she went there?
Mi Fengdu's eyes shot open when he heard the words of his youngest daughter, he glanced at the herbs in her hands and knew she wasn't lying. He had seen those herbs when he had been young and knew what they looked like.
"Did... did you really go there?", Her mother lifted her head.
Mi Juanxi glanced at her mother's tear stained face and she was immediately heartbroken.
"Hmm mom I did, I want you to get well soon so don't cry anymore okay?", Mi Juanxi embraced her mother.
Her mother's eyes were very sharp, she saw the wound on her daughter's neck when she embraced her.
"You got hurt?", Her mother pulled her back and stared at the wound on her daughter's neck. It was a fresh wound.
Mi Juanxi had covered the wound with her clothes wanting to hide it from her family however her mom discovered it.
"Juan go get the wound treatment cream! Hurry!", Her mother's eyes became watery and soon tears flowed down her cheeks.
' What? Even in this era there's something like a cream?'
Mi Juan arrived holding a bowl full of white cream, her mother Han Soo grabbed it from him and applied it on her daughter's neck.
After a while everything was calm, Mi Juanxi went to her room and changed her clothes.
' Life in this era is so difficult! I have to put on so many layers of clothing'
Her mother and father wanted her to stay and rest but she pleaded with them to leave after all she had been absent from the palace for almost a day now.
Mi Juanxi grabbed some bread and left for the palace.
Mi Juanxi reached the palace only to be stopped by the palace guards.
"Who are you? What business do you have here?", A young palace guard sized up Mi Juanxi.
Mi Juanxi felt like going crazy, why was every single man she met in this era so damn handsome?
"I'm a palace maid", Mi Juanxi replied while sizing up the palace guard, all this people would definitely have been celebrities if they were in her other life.
"What's your name?", Fu Lang asked as he took a long list not too far away.
"Mi Juanxi, my name is Mi Juanxi", she had now gotten used to her new identity.
The other palace guards gathered around and admired Mi Juanxi.
"Are you sure that pretty girl is really a palace maid? I've never seen anyone so pretty around"
"Yes she's so damn pretty, it would be great to marry a girl like her"
"Hey she's really pretty, who knows, maybe a royalty may choose her to be his wife or concubine"
"That's true, she's really too pretty you know? Way too pretty!"
Mi Juanxi could hear what the palace guards were saying, was it true? Was she really that pretty?
"Okay you may go in", Fu Lang waved at her to leave.
Mi Juanxi bowed slightly and walked into the palace however after taking a few steps she paused in awe.
The last time she was here, it had been dark so she had not gotten to see exactly how the palace looked like.
It was so huge and big, so big that it was easy to get missing or lost. Moreover there were so many buildings around, too many of them!
Honestly she didn't know exactly where she had been assigned to, the palace guard earlier had a list of their names right? Where they were assigned to should definitely be written there right?
"Hello? I need your help with something, could you please check where I'm assigned to? I've forgotten"
Fu Lang frowned, was this girl actually serious? She didn't know where she was assigned to?
"You have been assigned to Coal yard", Fu Lang replied after taking a look through the list once more.
