Sophia's home was one thing, but the bakery was everything to her.
When she watched her home go up in flames, she knew that everyone was safe and that the material things could be replaced.
However, knowing that the bakery was completely destroyed and the memories she had been making the entirety of her life were no more, her earth was shattering around her. It felt hard to breathe.
"The bakery…" Sophia's hand went over her mouth and a sob was muffled into her palm. "Rosa…"
Before Ethan and Gus could respond, Sophia found her footing and her legs moved on their own.
She started sprinting in the direction of her bakery, unable to feel the strain on her lungs from having been inside such a smoky building. There was no clear thought in her head only that she needed to see if Rosa was okay. If her baby, the bakery, was salvageable.
