Sophia couldn't help a quiet gasp escaping her lips as he spoke.
She thought that he might work up to that or need a while to decide what they were. His life was undoubtedly more complicated than hers and there were likely so many more complicated nuances to it.
For him to ask her the question so directly took her aback.
"I haven't wanted anything so badly in a long time," she admitted. "It makes me a little bit scared."
