While Valerius was in the Night Ranger's shadow camp, he assigned the shadow of the Two-Lives archer perched on the tree branch 150 feet away as the second shadow camp.
Once a new camp was assigned, the previous camp would last for only 3 seconds. During that time, he could jump between camps an unlimited number of times if he had enough soul power.
He shifted to the second shadow camp before the 3 seconds could pass.
This action came with a price.
It caused his soul power to decrease by 50 units.
He was now left with less than 50 units of it, which wasn't enough to use his innate arcane technique again. However, he didn't take any of the soul power recovery pills he'd prepared beforehand as not only was he feeling confident that he could make his plan work without wasting any more resources, but he also wanted to save his pills as he didn't have a lot of them on hand and had a gut feeling that he would be needing them later on in the dungeon.
