Deep inside the forest, a cave with a giant entrance could be seen.
The cave was surrounded by trees and thick vegetation from all sides, and at its entrance, a bunch of Two-Lives monsters were stationed, keeping a lookout for potential invaders.
They had excellent vision, but they couldn't see through solid objects, thus they completely missed the fact that there were two people hiding side by side behind a nearby tree.
These two people were Valerius and Anna. They were breathing shallowly and keeping their actions to a minimum, afraid that the monsters with excellent senses would otherwise discover their presence.
Valerius was standing alert with his back pressed against the tree, his eyes wide open and roaming about. If anyone came, he was ready to jump on them immediately.
