What Race Is The Purple Guy
Kai stared intensely at Elijah. "We're not going to a 5-star restaurant."
"Whatever you say, Kai," Elijah smirked.
"You're not taking me seriously," Kai growled.
"I am," Elijah responded.
"Then repeat what I said," Kai demanded.
"..." Elijah used his right to remain silent.
Kai slapped Elijah's head and shouted in his ear, "Don't think I don't know what you're planning."
"That hurt," Elijah muttered.
"You two are idiots," Julia mumbled, standing beside the two fighters.
"Just wait. We can do that another time, but for now, we need to save money," Kai insisted.
"Nope, we're going today," Elijah said firmly.
"Freaking hell, you're really..." Kai's eyes grew serious as he reached for his katana on his waist. Elijah's expression also turned serious, confusing Julia, who stood beside them.
"Who's there?" Elijah's deep voice rang out as he sensed killing intent directed at them.
From the trees, four figures emerged, clad in futuristic gear. One wielded a black bow with glowing strips, another had guns with differently colored gear and a bird symbol on her breastplate.
The last two were close-range fighters—one with daggers and the other with an energy sword. Their killing intent was palpable. There were three males and one female, all of different races.
The long-range fighters were an elf and a beast-woman with chocolate skin. The close-range fighters included a dark-skinned elf and a purple-skinned creature with tentacles for hair.
His eyes were also purple, indicating he was from the Slavinh race, though he retained some human-like features.
"Before we start fighting, I just want to ask: What race is the purple guy?" Elijah asked, acting as if everything was normal.
"I'm from the Slavinh race," the man answered.
"He's from the purple clan of the Slavinh race," Kai clarified, his eyes sharp.
"I've never heard of them or seen such a race in the city or the floating lawless city," Elijah remarked thoughtfully. 'I've seen the Beast race, Elf race, Dwarf race, even the Seafore race, which is rare unless there's an ocean nearby,' Elijah thought.
"That's understandable. We Slavinh have some pride and don't socialize with other races," the Slavinh man answered.
"Oh, so that means you have no pride in yourself," Elijah taunted.
Veins popped on the man's head, prompting Kai to warn Elijah, "Be wary of him. Each color clan of the Slavinh has a unique ability. The purple clan's ability is called Mighty."
"Mighty?" Elijah inquired, but before Kai could explain, the purple figure had already appeared in front of them, attacking with his quick-moving sword.
In an instant, a blue lotus appeared with a single leaf. Elijah kicked Kai away and pushed Julia back and a slash hit Elijah pushing him back, leaving a gash on the ground.
"Take care of the two," the Slavinh dashed forward, targeting Elijah.
"Damn," Kai stood up, 'It happened so fast I couldn't react.' He unsheathed his katana. "Take care of the dagger user. I'll handle the other two."
Julia also stood up, purple lightning covering her body. "Who do you think you are, ordering me around?" she said, but her eyes were already focused on the dagger user as her own daggers appeared in her hands.
"One Sword Style: Lightless Slash," Kai intoned, sending a slash at the two long-range fighters who dodged effortlessly and started shooting at him. But he had already coated himself in dark samurai armor made from his dark element.
Elijah had successfully blocked the attack with his crossed arms, sensing the man's approach. 'I can't win like this. This guy is much stronger than other E+ ranks, and my one-leaf lotus can only increase my power to E- rank.'
If it weren't for Elijah using his lightning element to match the foe's speed, his chances of winning would have dropped significantly.
Even now, the man was faster than him. The only solace Elijah had was that the opponent hadn't broken through to the expert realm, or this fight would already be lost. 'In power, he's greater, but at least I can match his speed, even if slightly,' Elijah thought, but he still felt it wasn't enough.
'I wanted to wait until I could control all my elements properly, but I don't think I have a choice,' Elijah thought.
The Lotus technique works as a boost, meaning that whenever the Lotus appears behind Elijah, his physical strength will be boosted. By absorbing his lotus, like when he used his lightning form, the boost will be doubled.
When he uses his element, it also gets boosted. The more leaves his lotus has, the more powerful the boost, which is an advantage when facing more powerful foes.
But increasing the leaf now means that Elijah's power can be boosted close to E+ rank or reach it. Even so, boosting his element, which he hardly has much control over, isn't a wise choice.
Elijah had no other choice because retreating now would only give his opponent an opportunity to stab him in the back. Sighing, the lightning around Elijah disappeared as the lotus started spinning like crazy, consuming huge amounts of Chi.
