A Week Later
In the forest behind the manor, Elijah sat in a lotus position, soon opening his eyes with a sigh. "What a week!" he said, staring at the sky and recalling the past few days.
After donning a plain white shirt and black pants, he was taken to an office where a beautiful woman named Ava gave him scant details about why he was brought there.
Using some technique to destroy the slave's collar, she said, "You'll be acting as the young master. Your name won't change much, but your surname will, so keep that in mind. For now, just stay here, and I'll call you when I need you."
She didn't explain much, her words were few, but what he liked was that he wasn't being forced to do anything and was expected to write some papers, alongside changing his surname to Dominic. Elijah Dominic of the Dominic family smiled, recalling those words.
"I never had one to begin with," he exclaimed and jumped up. "At the very least, I should train before facing him." His eyes darkened, and his harsh training started, moving at a fast pace, staring not far from his position where he left an armor plate heavier than it looked.
He got it after begging Miss Amy who agreed.
Starting with push-ups, his focus was on becoming stronger for his revenge and if the situation changed. With Elijah doing his training, he didn't know that he was being discussed inside the manor.
In the room, a painting was visibly shown, Ava stared there, trying to comprehend it. "Here is your tea, miss."
Taking the tea, Ava asked, "What is he doing outside?"
Amy's eyes changed color for a second, and she answered, "Mmm, he seems to be training." She felt really confused and asked, "Didn't you say that his body couldn't cultivate?"
"Yes, is there a problem?" Amy shook her head and just ignored it for the moment.
Ava then inquired, "I heard that your brother will be in the Floating Lawless City for some time."
Amy smiled and nodded.
"Yes, miss, but I don't know when he's coming," she said with a thoughtful expression.
"Don't worry about it, I just thought he could help us," Ava answered and said, "And about the boy, what should I do when I'm finished with him?"
"Mmm, that's for you to decide, miss." Ava didn't answer and just kept quiet, drinking her tea.
Outside, after some hours, Elijah was sweating buckets, punching the tree and breathing heavily. After a few minutes, he stopped and sat down in the lotus position once more as a silver aura surrounded his body. Indeed, Elijah couldn't cultivate mana.
He was born like that, but also his late grandfather was the same, and he taught him about their family history alongside the power they possessed. The power from ancient times can only be gained after a full understanding of the physical body, which rewards with the energy inside called Internal energy or Chi.
Circling his chi around his body, Elijah was strengthening his muscles and increasing the volume of his chi little by little. The stronger the body, the more chi one can possess.
The problem with ancient energy is that it is limited because none have ever broken the limits that lay forward, being alone in that field.
After some time, he opened his eyes to the sunset. In his view was a girl with long red hair and crimson eyes who laid her eyes on him. Elijah's first thought and words were, "I'm hungry." The girl showed a confused expression and smirked a little. But Elijah ignored all, dashing to the manor that wasn't far.
Dashing toward the manor, he said, "Was she also a member of this household?" he thought but didn't consider it much and rushed forward to the house.
After some minutes, the maid named Amy had cooked for him a table filled with food. Elijah's mouth watered, and he dug in with no reservation, chewing on the food. He said, "Miss Amy, I have never met someone as kind as you."
She responded by laughing a little and asked, "What about my lady?"
Considering his next words, he said, "I haven't been here for too long, but she seems to not like anything."
"That isn't true, everyone has something that they like," she replied. Elijah just shook his head, drinking some water after almost choking moments ago.
"Huh...." being able to push it down, he sighed and said, "Maybe, anyway, I saw a girl with red hair some moments ago, who was she?"
Pondering about what he said, she answered, "She must be from the Ralgmen Family that's here at the moment." She exclaimed. Seeing Elijah's confused expression, she said with a sigh, "You need to know some of those families."
"Does it matter?" he asked with his mouth full of food.
"Yes, it does as you are the young master."
