I… remember.
Only bits and pieces but I still remember … my first time.
It was dark.
Lonely.
I carved affection… and they were there.. but who? Who are these people surrounding me?.
Why do I feel like my heart is getting torn apart the more I stare at them.
"What you see is the past?"
The voice echoed.
My eyes snapped open in response to it, and I found myself standing in the middle of the darkness, surrounded by nothing but clouds.
Seated on a throne right in front of me, was a man, his form obscured in darkness but his eyes just as red as mine.
"Who are you?" I asked.
"I am you." He responded.
Definitely there was some truth to what he said, it felt like I was looking directly at myself despite knowing full well he is nothing but pure clouds.
"You must be confused, but it is quite understandable, I'm sure Amber will explain everything once you've awoken."
"You… know her?"
"Why yes… knowing her… she's probably right on top of you right now."
"Eh?" I blurted out with a somewhat nervous look on my face.
"You should be excited, but then again, … no, it's nothing to worry about."
The man who claimed to be me stood from his throne and began to walk towards me.
"I successfully reincarnated with my memories intact… I can finally rest… everything was not in vain."
He stopped, placing his hand on my shoulder.
"Redo, this is your strongest weapon to use, at Least until you regain your glory back to being the vampire of the west, king of vampires and lord of death".
"What are… you talking about?" I asked,
"There's no other way to say this, but you will carry a great deal of pain… but it's one we must carry… as kings"
"Uhn? You aren't…"
Suddenly my body began to fade.
"Looks like it's time…hopefully our special grade weapon remains a part of us… Goodbye… the journey has only just begun".
During that time, the only thing I could think about was how everything the man said made sense and also didn't at the same time.
It was frustrating, but I also felt like I've been reborn into something I once lost.
And when I came to, I was lying on the bed, probably one of the rooms in the mansion.
The first thing I saw when I woke up was Amber lying next to me.
Her arms coped around my body and her head resting softly on my chest.
"Amber?"
"Amber?"
Her eyes began to flicker, but eventually, she opened her eyes, raising her head up a bit to look at me.
"Good.. morning?" I spoke with a weird smile on my face.
But the moment she smiled back at me and uttered,
"Morning darling, and here I thought you were going to sleep the week away."
My heart skipped.
Has she always looked this pretty?.
No, it felt like I've been with her all my life, like we were more than what I thought we were… my heart can't stop pounding.
"Y-You seem well?" I managed to let out, immediately looking to the right to avoid her gaze.
"Hmm… bold of you to speak like that after leaving me waiting for a whole week." Amber uttered, sitting up right on the bed beside me.
I also did the same.
"I was asleep for a week?"
"Indeed… you used too much of your magic aura, I'm surprised it wasn't even longer." Amber sighed, "Perhaps I'm just weak at mind".
I looked down, memories of biting Amber's neck began to resurface, and not just that, even the weird transformation that occurred… I was a completely different person.
Stealing myself, I looked at Amber.
"I can tell you're still hiding something from me… back then, you said something about completing my evolution… what on earth did you mean?"
Amber simply stared at me for a while.
Without uttering a single word, she crawled towards me, her hand rubbing the inside of my thighs before she moved her face closer to me.
"You never change~" She spoke, biting my lip while her hand kept rubbing my thighs.
Something so little was getting me aroused and for some reason, I couldn't fight against her advances.
Her tongue licked my lips before she kissed me, sucking my lips with slight giggles escaping her mouth.
Once she had her fill, she pulled away, standing up from the bed with a smug smile on her face.
"I planned to explain everything to you the moment you wake up, but first… you should eat and freshen up… come to the dinning once you're done."
She left, closing the door behind her.
Sigh!
I rested my head on my pillow, my gaze on the ceiling.
"Urgh! What's happening to me?!"
I was indeed frustrated from how much it seemed like I didn't understand but yet the slight hint makes everything make sense.
I covered my eyes with my arm, trying to clear my head from the image I saw in my dream, of the man who claimed to be me.
"Yooooi"
Uhn? What was that?
Moving my arms from my eyes, I noticed a small creature floating in front of me.
It was small, with a humanoid body, crystal colored wings and a blue dress on its body.
Even after seeing something so strange, the first thing that left my mouth was something totally different from what I expected.
"Krista!" I exclaimed with a happy smile before I hugged her with my hand, "You have no idea how much I missed you".
"Krista misses you too! But Krista can't breathe if you keep this up!!!"
"Oh,"
I released my grip around her body and watched her try to catch her breath.
"Hmph! Krista is disappointed you'd think Krista could ever leave your side… Krista was only waiting for you to awaken."
I smiled.
Not only do I not remember how I even met her, or how I even know such a creature, but I also don't even know what we've been through.
That said, right now, what I'm feeling is that of someone who has just seen an old friend, a very very very old friend.
