Once I was done dressing, I made my way towards the dinning room where I had my breakfast with Amber and the main servants of the mansion.
Rose and Tess seem to be more familiar with me… no, it was I who was starting to look at them differently.
It felt like everything I once thought I had no knowledge on was suddenly coming into the light without me trying.
Even the supernatural beings I was clueless about were a bit more understandable now.
It's weird, and also exciting, almost like there's a spot that was missing in my life that was fixed.
Or at least that's what I think.
"So? Are you going to ask?" Amber inquired, resting her jaw on her hand as she looked at me from across the dining table.
I paused my food,
"What? Ask?"
Amber sighed, "You really are rather clueless sometimes… I guess I'll take the first step".
As she spoke, I slowly pulled away from my food to listen to whatever she had to say.
"We've clarified the fact that you are now a vampire, correct? One with the heart of a progenitor?".
"Yes…"
"And you also acknowledge the sudden memories flooding your mind…"
"Where are you going with this?" I asked.
Amber stared at me with a 'seriously?' look on face,
"Do you really not remember anything? About the progenitors and originals?" She asked.
"No, but I do remember their faces for some reason, but that's about it." I replied.
That was the best way I could put it, everything I remembered was so incomplete and barely made any sense.
I know who the progenitors are, by appearance but other than that, I know nothing else.
Even the fast that rose was my sword that I've been carrying for years made sense to me, past me would have panicked at the thought.
"So you don't remember who they are… but you know what they look like?" Amber uttered, her gaze solely fixed on me.
"Pretty much… aren't you overreacting a bit too much?".
She glared at me before pouting and resting her head on the table,
"I promised you I'd teach you though hmmmm…" So she muttered.
Rose chimed in,
"Why not just tell him how everything started… I'm sure master will slowly recall from there."
She was standing behind me, her voice bold as usual.
Amber sighed, "You're not wrong… I guess it's worth the shot, but there are so many things I also don't know about… so I'll just explain the part I'm sure of".
With that, she stood up from her chair and began walking towards me. Once she was close, she pushed my food to the side and sat on the table.
Her foot was now resting on my thighs, the texture of her black tights rubbing against my trousers as she began,
"According to ancient studies, back in the year 400, there was a god who was banished from the heavens… this god was known to be canving and dangerous… he was so devious everyone began calling this devil… and this title followed him for a long time"
She continued,
"The god took the hatred it got from the people and decided it wanted to end all of humanity and it almost succeeded… but for some reason, it was said the devil failed and was turned into an immortal tree."
The devil?.
"A few hundred years after that… the tree gave birth to three kids, each a different kind of being that was raised in a human society.
It didn't take long for humans to realize these children were far from normal, one of the children, Eiro, became bitter, he was known for destroying towns after towns with an army of devils.
The other child, Yilina was considered a god for her ability to birth creatures… of different types most of which were considered monsters.
And the last of the children was the one who was hated by nature, Quinn, he was a vampire, one who saved the world from Eiro with his army of vampires and other supernatural creatures he made… he was known as the King of vampires… "
"Eiro…"
"Despite how he saved the world… he was still hated by humans… People called the three childrens the originals as they were the ones who brought monsters and supernatural into the world."
Amber was now pointing at me as she continued, "And you darling….are the reincarnation of the vampire king".
I paused.
"Eh?"
"Come now, I just told you you're the reincarnation of the most powerful vampire to walk the earth… at least be more excited".
"Easier said than done… How exactly am I the reincarnation of that guy? Isn't he immortal?!" I asked.
"Good question, no one knows how he did… even his wives…"
"Wives?" I blurted out.
"Why yes, Quinn had eight wives, all of them were turned into vampires, and made progenitors… meaning… your wife is sitting right in front of you." She said with a smile.
Other than the fact this Quinn guy turned his wives into vampires… I was curious about something else….
"Eight… wives?" I inquired.
"Are you surprised?" She asked back.
"I mean… isn't eight wives too much of a stretch?"
"Not for a vampire… human rules don't apply to us now do they?"
I looked to the side, "I guess not".
"Good, you're catching on." Amber leaped down from the table and began walking around as she spoke,
"Anyway, we the progenitors felt sad after we heard you were dead, and we wanted to bring you back no matter what… each of us had our own reasons but mine was just so I could bring you back…"
"I see."
"And I was the only one that succeeded, the two other progenitors tried and failed, it led to their deaths… but not to worry, we are progenitors, we get reborn when we die".
"Wait… does that mean I've been reincarnating over and over again? Until this very moment?" I asked.
Amber stared at me for a while, and suddenly knocked the side of her head with her tongue sticking out before she uttered,
"Hehe~ Even I don't know the answer to that.".
A look of disappointment showed on my face, one that I couldn't hide even if I wanted to.
I stood up,
"I'm going to visit my mum, we'll continue this later."
And with that I walked out.
