And here I am, throwing the earth back into the hole I threw my father's corpse in. I did a pretty good job if I'm honest. Perhaps I never should have fought in the pits and instead worked as someone who buries bodies.
And right now it seems I have completed my job. "Hahh, hahh. I'm done, finally. Though I have to say, it really does seem like I'm stronger."
The difference was very noticeable. Though I'm ranked very low, it's still incomparable to what I was before.
Also, unlike before, I don't feel extremely tired. Because of my lack of sleep and bad health it always felt like I could drop down any second.
I should probably test my new strength. Looking around for a bit, I saw a tree close by. An idea suddenly struck me. 'I guess I should also get a board with some text for dad.'
Walking towards the tree, I took a stance. "hahhhh." I took a deep breath.
"BANG!"
Now, if it were before, It would take me about five hits and a broken hand to make a tree fall.
But now....
"Well, awakening is amazing." I just stared at the tree on the ground. And my hand, it just hurt a bit but nothing else.
This is pretty good. But I still had to finish the job before I went back inside. I sat down next to the fallen tree, and with my new strength it was pretty easy to rip out a part of it.
I then kept ripping pieces off of it until it was about 80 cm in length and 50 cm in width.
To finish it off I took a small rock on the ground to cut it's edges a bit and write some text on it.
I took the board and walked over towards where my father lay buried.
"And now to finish this." I stuck the board into the ground.
Now that I was finished, I just layed down on the ground and stared the sky. My head was just empty. The sky was plain blue with a couple of clouds here and there, nothing special. And yet.
"Beautiful."
Was the only word that came out of my mouth.
The world didn't seem so gray anymore.
I could use some sleep, like really bad. But I should do that later. So I just got up and went back home.
Entering the room, I saw Alice in her bed. She seemed to have cried a bit in her sleep as her eyes still were a bit wet. I just walked over to her bed and sat down on it next to her.
Then I just laid down next to her and just hugged her small body. And before I knew it, I fell asleep.

Somewhere else, in a big forest, a boy with a similar age to Alan was fighting some monsters. Well, fighting would be a big word, it was more like a slaughter.
Sword in hand, he was slaying monsters left and right. And none of these monster were below F+ rank while some of them were even E rank.
Walking among the corpses, he sat down on the ground. He pulled his blond hair back, exposing his black eyes.
Unlike Alan who is probably the scrawniest kid in the world, this kid was very well built and tall. And saying he was handsome was an understatement, he would simply make girls fall head over heels for him.
Summoning a bottle of water out of nowwhere, he took a sip from it. "Hahhh, killing these beasts is starting to get boring, I need a better challenge."
But then he remembered something as a smile formed on his face." I just hope Eternal Academy lives up to its name. I need some challenge and what I also need is strength.
He opened his status window to look at his stats

Though Adam's stats were incredible for someone his age, he wasn't satisfied. He just remembered the day he lost everything.
The air took a crimson hue around him as rage overtook him as he remembered the ones who slaughtered his parents. "I need to get stronger, far stronger. Strong enough to slaughter each and everyone of those demon scum.

And somewhere else there was a young lady. She was currently in her bedroom, if that is what you could call it. Her bedroom was at least twice as big as Alan's house. It was decored with the highest luxuries and colored in white, black and a bit of pink.
The young lady was currently lying down on her king-sized bed with a bored look on her beautiful face. Her ocean-like eyes seemed to be dead like Alan's, but they weren't the same.
While Alan had grown dead because of tremendous torture, whether physical or mentally, and were far worse than hers.
Hers simply looked dead because of her boredom, the two can't be compared.
'Why is there never anything fun goin on. I have the worst life possible, couldn't I just be born into a commoner household.' She thought to herself.
She had grown to hate her prospering house because she was a very sheltered kid. She was always jealous of the kids she was looking at through her window, while she had to sit in her house all day and study.
"Creak"
Hearing her door creak she looked who was entering her room. She recognized the individual, it was one of her maids, Rosa.
She wasn't interested in what message Rosa came to tell her, she just quickly wanted to get this over with. "What is it Rosa, be quick with it."
Rosa bowed slightly before opening her mouth. "Pardon my intrusion young lady, the lord wanted me to inform you of your acceptance into Eternal Academy."
The girl's eyes shot wide open at this news.
Though for many this would be the greatest news one could receive, for her it was even greater. Entering Eternal Academy meant finally being able to hang out with people her age. It meant she had a bit of freedom.
Though excited from the inside, from the outside she didn't show a thing. "It's natural that I got accepted, it was useless to infrom me about it, now you can leave."
Rosa just bowed once more before she left the room. "As you wish, young lady."
The moment rosa left, she got of her bed and started jumping around with a huge smile on her face. Her black hair was flowing around.
"Yes, yes, yes. I can finally go out and make some friends. Perhaps I can go out shopping or something else. Anyone would like to hang out with a genius like me after all."
She decided to check her status window to show herself she indeed was a genius.

A satisfied smile was on her face as she finished looking at her stats.
She jumped back on her bed and decided to take a good night of rest after hearing this news.
"Be prepared people. In a month you will witness my genius."

Sitting in a bedroom was a woman tugging her kid in, she was an incredibly beautiful woman.
"Mom, mom. Can you tell me the story of the savior again?"
The kid was really excited because this was his favorite story, though he never understood the ending.
The woman gave him a warm smile as she answered him. "Of course Alan. I'll tell you the story again."
"There was once a kid who had lost everything to the war between the demons and the other races. But despite that, he was always a kind kid. Through the years he became stronger and stronger and saved more and more lives until he became a match against the demon king. And an epic battle ensued." The woman took a pause which caused Alan to ask.
"What happened then, did he kill all the demons? He should. They have killed al lot of people and also his family."
But the woman just laughed before continuing. "The hero indeed defeated the demon king. But instead of killing him, he decided to spare him and convinced him to make peace with the other races. The demons and the other races managed to live together in peace forever."
A frown had grown on little Alan's face as he questioned her." But why, the demons were scum who killed everyone, they should've died."
The woman just shakes her head. "It doesn't work like that Al. You are just looking at this one sided. The demons are not necessarily evil just like the other races are not necessarily good."
The woman got up before walking away. "Have a good night Al."
And she just left the room but Alan started calling out to her. "Wait mom I want to hear more stories."
But his mother didn't seem to notice his calls.
"Mom? Mom, why are you ignoring me? MOM!"
He started to cry as he was yelling for his mom to come back.
"MOM! MOM! PLEASE DON'T GO MOM. I WANT TO HEAR MORE STORIES. PLEASE DON'T ABANDON ME AGAIN."
But his screams seemed to hit a lightbulb as he realized something.
'Wait, again? When did mom leave me?'
And at once he realized something.
'This is a dream'
And just like that I woke up from the dream.
'Why did I dream about that traitor. Is it because of what dad wrote in his letter.'
Too much thinking, too much stress. I'm better at doing. Even my status window agrees with that seeing my F rank intelligence.
I turned to look at Alice who was next to me, still sleeping. I tugged at her side to wake her up.
"Hm? Alan stop that." It seems I got her up. She doesn't seem to have remembered yet what happened yesterday.
"Alan, is dad really dead?" Ah, seems she remembered. I looked at her face which was filled with sadness.
"Yes, he's gone. He left a letter for us, wanna read it?" I don't know how to comfort a little girl so I'll just be straightforward.
She just nodded her head so I handed her the letter dad left behind.
After reading through it a couple of tears started to form in her eyes again.
"What are we gonna do Alan. We can't live like this forever. Perhaps I should also enter the pits."
'Her entering the pits? Is she crazy? Princess you are not getting your hands dirty, ever.'
I just shook my head as a smile formed on my face and I answered her while wiping her tears away. "There is no need for that princess. I have something to tell you."
A frown formed on her face as she became curious. "And what is that?"
"I uhh… I awakened. And I managed to enter Eternal Academy. So we can say goodbye to this pathetic life."
Her face lit up as she jumped into my arms. "Really? Really Al? Hehe I knew my whish would work."
This time a frown formed on my face. What did she mean whish? "What are you talking about?" I let her down to stand on the bed as I stood on the ground which got her to be on about an even level with me.
She just puffed her chest and told me with a proud smile. "When I blew my candles, I wished that you would awaken. And look, you did. And here you were mocking me for believing in wishes."
Ah, she's talking about that. "Well thank you my lady for granting me this power."
I then turned around with my back to her and bent down a little. "Alright, get on my back. We're going somewhere."
She hopped on my back but asked me." Where are we going?"
I turned my face to her. "We're going do dad's grave."
I walked out of our house and went to the back of it. There on the ground, you could see a wooden board stick out.
I walked up to it before putting Alice down. I then sat on the ground next to her and put her head on my shoulder.
"This will be our new beginning Alice, we will be happy for once."
I didn't hear an answer, I just felt a small nod.
I read the contents of the wooden board
