Chapter 10 - chapter 10 training (1)

Alan's POV:

'What happened?'

I was slowly waking up but everything still felt a little hazy. It took me a couple of seconds but I remembered what happened.

'Right. That fucking bitch. I didn't finish you off yet you're such a coward that you decide to attack me when I was distracted?'

I just felt one thing. Anger. It had been a long while since I actually lost a fight but I'm not petty enough to get mad if I lose a fight.

What made me angry is how I lost. I showed her mercy and this is how she answered to it.

'Coward. I knew I should've killed her. Why did I stop though? Do I really care enough about Rachel to just stop like that in the middle of a fight? I just met her.'

'Egh, too much thinking. Let's just get up.'

Opening my eyes, I saw a ceiling in front of me. I slowly got up and noticed I was currenlty on a very luxurious bed.

What I also noticed were Rachel and Alice at my bed. It seemed they had fallen asleep as both their heads lay near the edges of the bed.

I didn't know why but I just felt glad. Glad that someone cared about me and cared wether I lived.

But what I also noticed was a person sitting on a chair on the other side of the room. I quickly recognized her.

It was the bitch who almost killed me.

'Well well well. Look who we have here. How about I finish her off.'

I was slowly getting up from the bed when she noticed me and started to speak.

"It seems you've wok~"

She started talking but I didn't care. I immediately rushed at her and cut her off.

I was near her when my arms where grabbed with a considerable force.

I didn't know when but a man came out of nowhere and grabbed my arms. I tried to get free from his grip but it just wouldn't budge.

'What the fuck is this guy made off?'

His grip strengthened which caused me some pain and caused me to stop my struggle.

"You were granted the honor of being taken care off by the young miss of the Silverheart family yet you accept it like this?"

The pressure on my arms increased and my bone started to creak.

"But unfortunately, it seems the young miss wants you alive. But to be safe, I'll just break your arms."

"Crack."

And he made true to his promise. A second later he broke my arms.

"Well that hurts. If you're so much stronger, why would you need to do this? You just wanted to break my arms to amuse your pathetic self."

Indeed, it did hurt quite a bit. But my pain tolerance is much higher than the average person so all I expressed was some annoyance.

It seemed that my words plus my reaction seemed to anger him.

"You little shit! Who do you think you are? You think I can't kill you? Just whatch and see what I'll do t~"

"Enough Brutus. Leave the room."

He seemed to be threatening me but he was cut off by the girl on the chair. But that wasn't what took my attention, it was something else.

"Pfft. Your name is Brutus? I have to say, it really matches. Hahaha."

I broke out in laughter. I mean, could you blame me? He seemed to be a muscle head and his name was Brutus. Of course I had to laugh.

But he didn't look like he found it very funny. His face became red and it looked like he was about to explode.

"YOU LITTLE IMP! I'll beat the shit out of you!

But his threats were cut off yet again.

"BRUTUS! I won't repeat myself. Leave right now."

He looked like he wanted to argue but one cold stare from his young miss immediately stopped him. He gave me one

More dirty look and left the room.

And now, it was just the two of us. Fortunately, I had already calmed down. I could see that, at least this time, she had no intention of hurting me.

I walked back towards the bed with my broken arms dangling around and sat on it.

Next we just stared at each other for a couple of minutes untill she broke the silence.

"I guess I should introduce myself. My name is Sylvia Silverheart of the Silverheart family."

————————————————————

Sylvia's POV:

I already knew there was something wrong with this guy but it seems he could still baffle me.

The first thing he did when he woke up was attack me, which to some degree, I could understand.

And then Brutus intervened. I had ordered him to not go too far if anything happened but it seems he didn't listen to me as he broke his arms.

Normally, I would already be yelling at Brutus for ignoring my orders but I was too shocked at the moment.

His arms were just broken yet all he expressed was some annoyance? And not just that, he even went off on Brutus.

But I quickly intervened before anything too bad could happen and send Brutus out.

And finally, I introduced myself. But instead of the usual expression of respect or fear or whatever when he found out I'm a Silverheart, he just sat there with a bored look.

'What is wrong with this guy? Doesn't he care about the influence of our family.'

And his response also baffled me. "Why does everyone say 'of the Silverheart family'? Can't you just say your last name and keep it there? Ah nevermind, I don't care. Nice too meet you, my name is Alan Walker."

And he proceeded to stick his hand out, apparently wanting to shake my hand. But instead, it was just his arm hanging in the air.

"Ah, forgot about that. Makes things a little complicated."

My eyes twitched. 'Is this guy even human? Doesn't it hurt even a little? And why is he so weird? It's the norm for higher class families to introduce themselves like that.'

"Calm down." I whispered to myself.

I got up and walked over to him. At the same time I summoned a higher class healing potion.

Though they were expensive, our family could easily afford them. And we are also the ones who put him in this state so it's also our obligation.

"Drink this up, it will heal your arms in a couple of minutes."

His eyebrows went up in surprise.

"You think it's smart to heal my arms? What if I attack you again."

Indeed, it may not be the smartest thing I could do but I felt too guilty to leave him like this.

"I'll just have to trust you won't. Plus, I don't think a mere G rank can defeat me."

His expression turned to one of annoyance.

"You say that, but we both know I could have killed you if it weren't for Rachel to interfere."

"Clench"

I clenched my fists with quite a lot of strength. Though what he said is true, it's still annoying to know that I basically lost to a G rank in a life and death battle.

'But I also learned a lot. The first is that I should never look down on my opponent. The second, I need to improve my skill and experience in battle.'

Though I hate to admit it. The difference in skill and experience between us was incomparable.

"If it helps to ease your worries, I'm not planning on attacking you."

….

The awkward silence returned in the room. I didn't really know where to go from here. Let's just be straightforward.

"Rachel told me how you saved her life from those scum. I can't express my gratitude for what you have done. I don't know what I'd do if something happened to her."

I just let the words kick in before I continued.

"And I'm very, very sorry about what I did to you. It's just, I had been panicking all day about Rachel's disappearance and even with all of our guards searching, we couldn't find her."

"The last place we expected her to ever be would be the slums. And when I saw you with her, I immediately came to the conclusion that you were about to hurt her and just attacked. Again. I am very sorry about what I~"

I was genuinely sorry about what I did but he cut me off while I was apologizing.

"It's okay. Though I was angry before, I can think clearly now. I'd do the exact same thing you did if it were to be Alice that went missing."

Really? He forgave me like that? What happened to the vengeful creature that jumped out of his bed and tried to kill me?

I had to admit, I was a little curious about him. Who is he? How is he that strong? You'd have to be at the very least F+ rank to defeat him.

Yes, though he basically beat me, that was just a one time thing. If we were to fight now he'd lose. And I'm pretty sure he knows that.

"Hey, do you mind me asking, what is your mainclass? And what level is it?"

I had to know. I could sense mana coming from his boddy so he should be a magic class.

"Ehh, let me check real quick."

'Check? Why does he have to check his mainclass?'

Everyone knows their main class, right?

"It says swordsman level 1."

'His class is swordsman? But he has mana instead of aura. Ah, I heard some people did get screwed like this in which they got unmathching energy forms and main classes.'

But wait. He said it was level 1. But his skillset was far too great to be a mere level 1.

He seemed to be good with his body so I suspected he had the martial arts class as his subclass.

"Do you have a subclass called martial artist. And what level is it?"

He checked his status again before he answered. "It seems like I do. It says level 6. I didn't expect that I could still improve my hand to hand combat but it seems I can."

I stood up and started shaking his shoulders.

"Did you just say level 6? As in the number that comes after 5?That very same six?"

He threw my hands of his shoulder. He was clearly annoyed that I touched him.

"Jeez, calm down. What's the problem here. And what? Are you saying I don't know how to count? Yes it says level 6."

It is hard to believe he managed to reach level 6. And in his subclass that is! There is a difference between main classes and subclasses.

Main classes are where your innate talent comes. You will easily be able to level it up and you will also be able to master the arts that belong to your class much faster.

Subclasses on the other hand, are just classes you can learn. For example, a mage can still practice martial arts. It's just that their talent won't be in that class.

The system registers it as a subclass. Subclasses are harder to raise the level in and mastering their arts.

And the higher the level of your class, the harder it will be to go to the next level.

'Level 6 is something people reach when they are A rank and at best B rank. And that would be in their main class.'

Rachel told me he had just awakened, which was surprisingly late. But that also meant that he reached level 6 before he even awakened.

'How is that even possible? What kind of training did he receive before awakening?'

I needed to see this for myself. It was way too hard to believe that he was level 6.

"Would you mind sharing your status with me? I'll only look at your classes, nothing more."

I just needed to be sure. I probably wont't be able to sleep if I don't figure it out now.

"How do I do that? Let me see. Status sharing? Ah I see, that's how you do it."

"Oh, it seems our fights helped me break through, that's nice. I guess I have to thank you."

'He really did manage to reach level 6. And it seems this guy really is stupid, how is his intelligence so low? But his B.I on the other hand. It's actually A rank. You are telling me that his battle awareness is equivalent to an A rank? What a monster.'

I couldn't fathom this guy. It's like he was a different breed. He just awakened yet he can already defeat people stronger than him. And his skill is just way too high.

I will have to tell my father about this. It would be good if we could get a contract with him because I am very sure that this guy will become someone powerful in the future.

He will most likely surpass me and who knows, perhaps he'll even reach SS rank.

I took out my phone and messaged my father to let him know about this guy. I had already informed him about how he saved Rachel and also what I did to him.

It took a minute before I got his response.

[Take him to the training room. I will be looking from afar to see what he is capable of. Though the results won't change anything about the fact that we owe him and we'll still reward him.]

'It seems father had the same thoughts as me. It would be good if we could recruit him.'

"Yo Alan, it's alright if I call you that right? How we go to the training room? Though you're pretty strong, to survive in the academy you'll need a higher rank."
